Augh! Jabbed the neck again!
« on: January 23, 2015, 05:23:14 AM »
So I was removing the neck plug on a G4 and accidentaly cutted a bit of her neck. It does not ruin the custom for me, but it looks ugly... how can I fix it? Maybe with a bit of sculpting clay?

If you are really careful with super glue maybe. I haven't had any necks destroyed since I've been making sure the body is warm from being submerged in hot water before I cut the plug out.

I always make sure that it's submerged in hot water... but when I get too nervous...

To me, this looks like it can be repaired with super glue. Leave a little of the plastic on the outside free of glue so that when the to pieces are joined, the glue won't seep to the surface. If it still doesn't look right, afterwards you can cut any extra plastic sticking out with an exacto-knife.

If you're planning on painting over the pony, some sculpty or similar material can be put over the area (a very thin layer and after you join the pieces together) and then sanded to be the same smoothness of the pony .

I've tired both of these things, and you can't even notice!

I had this happen once and I used super glue. It wasn't very noticeable once it was glued shut

I was going to suggest super glue, too.

Super glue should be waterproof, haven't heard of a super glue that wasn't :)
