G4 Mcdonald's ponies are fun to customize! Does anyone know how to remove/add a tail though? I thought the heads weren't removable...

G4 Mcdonald's ponies are fun to customize! Does anyone know how to remove/add a tail though? I thought the heads weren't removable...

The heads are not removable on the g4 mcdonalds ponies. the tail is held inside them through a plastic loop that is molded into the plastic. Pulling and tugging on the whole tail does NOT work for getting them out. I spent alot of time tugging and pulling to try to pop that tail out figuring it was just a plug stuck inside boy was I wrong.

I then tried cutting the tail off which just left a chunk of short hair inside that I couldn't get to pull out at all and it just stayed stuck inside.....

The best way I found is to feel the tail and see where it naturally separates. Then like 3-5 hairs at a time pull on one side of the separation pulling it out through the loop. It takes a while but it yields the best results getting out all the hair.

As for re-tailing I'm sure you could go back with wire and string and reloop the tail like it originally was but I found it easier to use a dremel and carve out the inside a bit to fit a new tail plug into with glue.

Gosh I feel like I need to do a tutorial on this! There doesn't seem to be one out there for g4 mcd ponies.

These are fantastic! Any chance of offering something similar for sale next Christmas?
If wishes were horses, they'd be My Little Ponies.
