Is this an item of pony clothing?

A while ago, I found a box with all the pony clothes that I'd ever collected, and spent some time sorting through it and getting pictures for reference.

I found this item though, and have no idea what is it :) I wondered if anyone knows what it is (if it even IS a pony item at all)?

I only wish now that I'd got a picture of it on a pony, to show the scale *silly me* I guess I might have used it as a bonnet, it fits quite nicely round the back of a G1 pony head, with the cords being tied under the chin.

Unfortunately not pony wear...but it is adorable. It would look cute with the abracadabra set.

The fabric makes me think Barbie. I'm sure I had some outfits of the same material.

I'm sure I have a Fashion Star Fillies dress that used that fabric.  Maybe it came with that?

Edit:  Nope, this is what I was thinking of and there are no small gold accessories.  http://www.fashionstarfillies.com/clothing/funfash.htm  You have to admit it's a similar fabric though!

I would go ask on gost of the doll, or look at some of the toy sections there.

Kinda reminds me of the skirt that came with Hollywood hair Barbie, only that had stars on it if I remember.

Thanks everyone! I would have happily bet Fashion Star Fillies myself, as I did have one when I was younger. I never had any barbies or Moondreamers though.

It's such a mystery! It is the only non pony piece of clothing, everything else in the box was from a set of pony clothing.

This might be a good idea. I think it looks like a cute little apron some small doll could have worn. :)
