Considering all the other dangerous chemicals that humans are exposed to on a regular basis in today's world, I'd seriously stop worrying about your plastic ponies that make you happy!
I really wish we had a consultant scientist for all our plastic questions
Maybe I'm not as careful or paranoid, but my 7 month old has his own chief to play with. He didn't have any hair left so I boiled him in oxyclean and handed it over to the baby. He's been playing, chewing and drooling all over him for months now. Unless the pony is actively seeping plastizier I wouldn't hestitate to hand them over to a child. We played with much more dangerous things as kids. You should read the warnings on toys nowadays. Nothing is safe for anyone anymore.
