Any Country Music fans who could help me out?

I've always had a pretty diverse taste in music and will listen to mostly anything but for whatever reason I was never really interested in Country Music when I was younger so I never sought anything out in that Genre, but it recently occurred to me that I'm not really opposed to listening to Country as much as I just don't know anything about it. I really don't know what to look for as far as what's considered good or popular.

There are a small handfull of artists that I already like, such as Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and Garth Brooks, but generally I haven't listen to much Country and I'd like some suggestions if anyone has any.

I've been listening to country for as long as I can remember--I'd love to steer you towards some good music! You've already got some greats (Dolly!!), so here's some more:

For the ''older'' country (like late 80s through late 90s), I'd go Wynonna, Martina McBride, Alabama, Charlie Daniels Band, Hank Williams Jr., Earl Scruggs, Dixie Chicks, Sawyer Brown, Alan Jackson, Bonnie Raitt, Dwight Yoakam, Marty Stuart, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson...

For the "newer" country (2000 and on), I'd recommend The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, Eric Church.

I am one who really can't stand the newer pop/country genre, like Taylor Swift, so I won't be recommending any of that subgenre

I would say Clint Black and Gary Allen.........Jason Aldean is pretty good too.

Florida Georgia Line!  I am loving them!  Check out their song "Dirt" if you get a chance, I am obsessed with it right now.  I second a lot of the suggestions others have made.  Alabama, Carrie Underwood, George Strait and Brad Paisley.  Some of Taylor Swift's older stuff is good but her recent music is definitely NOT country.  Enjoy, country music is awesome!

Much like kaoskat I really can't stand country. Nevertheless, I live in a 'country' location where the stuff is blared at work and at restaurants (*sighs*). I'm odd as I actually like country-related genres a whole lot (country rock, country folk, bluegrass), but country itself I just can't stand at all.

One classic country artist my parents like to listen to is Charlie Rich. I actually like one song by him, but it doesn't sound country to me at all (We Love Each Other)... That's all I've got. xD

I like Carrie Underwood.  Mom likes a few singers though I cant remember them off the top of my head (Keith Urban is one of them)

I like the older stuff better myself, stuff from the 80's-early 00's.

I love Country music. My favorite songs are from the 80's-90's but I also like some newer songs too. I'd recommend George Strait, Alabama, Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley.

My favorite Taylor Swift songs are Teardrops on my Guitar, Ours and Mean but I'm not sure if those fit into Country or pop music.

I pretty much always have country on in the car. I've been really enjoying Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Dean Brody and Jason Aldean lately. And of course the classics like Reba and Kenny Rogers.
