Do you know what ponies you have?

G1 yes because my heart really belongs to them and they are too special to me to forget any.
G2 easy because I only have two babies
G3 well, let's just say I need to have a look at my photos first before I buy anything new or put them on a wish list (I did buy double before)
G4 starting to resemble G3 because I just have too many and don't even know how many anymore (ergo, look at photos before buying anything)

I only have four G1s (including a Lickety-Split with a pink mane and tail), a solitary G3 styling size Rainbow Dash and many store-bought G4s that I know the names of, so its  easy enough to keep track. I don't know the name of every G3 (or G1) under the sun, but since I tend to stick to getting the ones from the TV incarnations that I know the names of, so it is easier to keep track of the pony collection (I am thinking of purchasing some g
3s, maybe a Minty, Razzaroo, Star Catcher, a few G3 breezies...).

No, not really.

Most of my ponies are in my bedroom and every time I wanna buy a new pony, I need check do I have that one already. Especially with G2 ponies.

With G1's and G4's I'm quite on track, but my G2's and G3's... If I dind't have a wish list I would have no idea who I'm looking for next.

Show me a pony and I'll tell you if I have her or not, and her history if I do, I've never had problems remembering who's in my collection.  Just don't ask me to tell you what I had for lunch yesterday.  My brain is full of pony trivia, there's no room for other stuff.

I can always remember all the g1s I have and all their names...hehe has never been a problem for me either...so when I am at the pony fairs I am scanning scanning.....yep....nope.....nope.....yep.....upgrade.........LOL

I have a rough idea of who I have. I have a pony book where I write which ones I have.

G1 - 218
G3 - 225
G4 - 184 + 79 blind bags

I defenitely know all my G1s, G2s and G4s, but I am not 100% certain I could list my G3s..

G1s - almost. I have some out of sight and a few that my daughter plays with regularly sooooo...

G2s - yes. Only one full sized, MOC, and three McDs. 

G3 - I used to. Half of them are MIB, catalogued, and up for sale but the ones I'm keeping are no longer known. Plus the huge herd I got specifically for my daughter to play with... Nope. 

G4 - yes? All my blindbags are displayed in a cabinet I made for them. I have a number of them still boxed that are out of sight but I have a list of them. And my G4 customs are prominently displayed.

Yes.  I collect mostly G2's and I use Summer's book to keep track of my inventory.  When i upgrade or get doubles in a lot, I put them up for sale at the MLP Fair.

I do know which ones I have! It's not like I could list all of them off the top of my head, but if I had a list of all the ponies ever, I could circle which ones I have. Well, except I have forgotten a blind bag once or twice.

For the most part I know which G1's I have; though not primarily by name. I'm more of a visual rememberer. I carry my visual wish list with me at all times... you never know when you'll need it.
