A tale of woe
« on: September 07, 2014, 07:17:58 PM »
Growing up, my little sister was the one with the ponies. She had about eight, and she gave me two of them, and I found one in our attic, in a box of toys.

So here they are, see if you can guess which one the story is about.

Did you guess Toola Roola? You would be right.

after being stored ina box in our attic, she's gone totally white. She is meant to be pink. All her colours have faded, including her hair, cutie mark and eyes. She has a tiny bit of pink on one cheek, but other than that, she's totally white. The rest of the toys in the box are faded as well, and I found a couple of fakies in there amongst various barbie toys, but anyway, I just wanted to show some people who may care this ponies tale of woe.

Poor Toola Roola!  She is still a very cute pony, though.  It is really great that you found her though because being reunited with a childhood pony is really fun.  I was thrilled when I found my box of G3s after they got lost in a move.  It is sad that she got faded, though.  When I found my childhood G3s one of my favorite had a really icky plasticizer leak and turned a weird color, so I totally get how disappointing it is to find a much loved pony with a condition problem.

Yeah, she's still really cute, and her faded hair looks a lot nicer, I think, than vibrant. Also worth noting she has the nicest hair out of all my ponies!

I didn't even realize she wasn't supposed to be white . o.O

I am wondering now what caused her to become white:

Heat in the attic?
Chemical reaction with the box in which she was stored?
The cold in the attic?
Something else?

Not sun fading as there was no sun! I am perplexed.....
 >_<^.^

Oh I actually really like her that colour :) I am sorry if you are disappointed in her but it is great to have some of your childhood ponies :)

It was nice of your sister to share her ponies with you - is she your older or younger sister?
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Its a lot more obvious in person haha, but she is meant to be pretty pale!

teresat

Its a pretty big mystery as to what happened, but I think it might have had something to do with the daily 80% humidity, a lot of other toys in the box faded as well, various barbie boat things, doll clothes, toy cars...

Mrbrightsky

Ohhh I never considered that! She does now I think about it!

Ackryllis

Me too, I'm just disappointed my sister lost track of her. (I still love her :) )

I am pleased her hair faded with her, its the prettiest colours I have.

It sure is, even if I never knew much about them, I really enjoyed the G3 cartoon. She's younger, but she never cared much for G3, she just kept her two Rarity's and her three newborn Cuties. I'm not disapointed in her, I think she's really nice. She holds a special place in my heart.
