Their patterning is quite similar, yes. The main difference is that Gypsy has a white belly and white socks, whereas the new guy has no white markings at all.

I hear a lot of common introucing methods here, seperate rooms, stuff with their smell on it, etc. etc.

I tried it all. I still thnk, in the end, it doesn't even matter (nice song).

You can try to make it as easy as possible for your cats. But like someone said here, cats are solitairy animals.
Please don't take it personally if they don't match.
NEVER expect them to be best buds. With cats 'accepting each other' is the biggest dream you should have

I just don't like to hear stories like 'I did everything, all the tips, slowly inrocing them. etc' and they still don't love each other! They are cats.

And thats what I meant by... you can do all this stuff... to make the meetingmore comfortable...but...
