Aw thank you guys, I have yet make any attempt to try and find another way of curling the hair... I might just have to rehair a fakie soon to test it but not with a lot of the ribbon fray

She's super cute, love her colors.  I was wondering what was going on there with the hair until I read your description 

Yeah, the fly-away look is not really what I wanted, but I think if the hair had been longer it wouldn't have been a problem xD But as I said I'm still testing and I'll be bouncing ideas on how to make this work better (well when it comes to getting the color to work and the curling)

Oh sorry, that didn't come out how I intended, I just meant I couldn't figure out why it looked so different than nylon until I read the description- it does look quite pretty and I bet it feels lovely too!
