She's one of my first and most fondly remembered ponies. Even to this day, I am amused by the combination of a "girly" color and a "non-girly" symbol.

I remember not liking her as a kid because she has human roller skates for a symbol.   But now I have her and love her orange color.

Oh, in the 80s white skates were considered quite "girly" and roller skating rinks and parties were all the rage for both girls and boys.   So that perspective is really interesting to me.  Are skates no longer considered girly?

I haven't bought a Speedy yet because I have struggled to find a pretty one! It's shocking I know, loving TE's so much and not even having a fairly common member of the family but hey. I'd love to have both versions with lovely hair and no regrind!  :lovey:

I'll pass today. I may want to add her to my collection later but for now TEs are out of my focus and Speedy isn't among the ones I'll try to get first when their time comes. For some reason the colours just don't appeal to me that much, even though I love orange ponies (and even weird peach coloured ponies like Patch). Maybe she'll grow on me eventually, a lot of ponies do! Especially when I get to see them in person for the first time. This is one of my favourite poses, however!

I don't have her and she's really low on my list of priorities. Not my fave pony.

I was under the impression that roller skates were pretty gender neutral, especially compared to some things that other G1s had as symbols (like flowers, butterflies, hearts, etc.)
