POTD 7/11/2014 Braided Beauty

I have her but I need an upgrade. I don't love this set in general.

I made the mistake of leaving mine in braids for 25 some odd years, so she was a frizzy mess when rescued. I ended up doing ringlets instead of battling that mess!

Lol - that's what I did to mine as a kid as well! Wasn't pretty when I undid the plaits after years of storage 

I remember getting this girl, it was either a birthday or christmas. I remember the huge box she came in!

I had a couple of BNG ponies, although she wasn't one of them. It was a fun set. Braided Beauty is pretty.

She is one of the ponies who seems to pop up in every other lot I buy for some reason Not my favourite - not a massive fan of green to be honest - and I like all the other ponies in the set better. I feel a little mean saying that! Poor Braided Beauty.

The first Braided Beauty I got as an adult turned out to have a "loose head". I should have read her eBay description a bit more carefully, since I didn't really understand what "loose head" meant until I opened the package she was shipped in to witness just her head come tumbling out, followed by the rest of her body.

The tail-retracting mechanism works, but her head will still fall off at the slightest nudge. I also didn't have much luck getting the plastic framework out of her neck in order to fix the mechanism.

Luckily, I recently found another BB at a vintage toy and collectable store with an intact mechanism (and 25-year-old braids in her mane and tail). She's still a tad dirty and part of her tail looks a bit faded, but those both seem like a small price to pay for a pony with a head that doesn't risk toppling off of her body.

I have her and I upgraded her. So now I have a bright lovely green of her. Shes very pretty.

I have her too. Also not one of my favoriete. But she's nearly in mint condition en she has lovely hair. I think I bought her in a lot.
