Car Accessories?
« on: July 19, 2014, 07:25:05 PM »
So on the fourth I purchased a brand new car because my old one died a week prior. It being a new car makes me want to have fun with it and accessorize it, but with what? I'm looking for ideas :P Do any of you pony people decorate your car? Any fun interior accessories? Here's a picture of my car. It's a 2014 Kia Rio and all I've got is a Fluttershy decal on the back and a yummy watermelon lemonade scented cupcake from Bath and Body Works

I have an MLP license plate frame on mine. :) Sometimes we put a pompom thing on the antenna, or something fun hanging from the mirror (for the longest time I had one of the car poofs from our wedding).

My car occasionally changes themes in the back window. Right now I have 8" stuffed smurfette and smurf (from the first movie). I also have plain grey car seat covers on the front seat.

I have not ever put any stickers on my car. I did get my windows tinted and put some chrome strips on my grill. I have to change them out now cause they are faded and look horrible.  I did also change my rims on my car to, I got some stock chrome ones. I love how my car looks.

Congrats on your new car :)

Woo hoo!  New car!  Congrats!

How about some seat covers?  They can look cool and protect your investment   You could get plain ones and add your own decorations, or get some with fun patterns!

I have some shiny/metallic fish stickers arranged on my dashboard, i was afraid they would look bad over time but it has been about 4 years and they still look great.  Also my friend got this for me:  http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/170e/  So practical yet...very special, ha ha!

Hope you get lots of great ideas  ^.^

Yay, new car! :D  KIA's are fantastic.  I have a 2005 Spectra and I love it to death.

The only decals my car has are an old Rainbow Dash sticker from Hot Topic, a University of South Carolina gamecock, and my 'Citadel Graduate College' sticker.  I want to rip them all off and slap some nerdy fandom stickers on there at some point.  Some old rubber floormats with dragons on them, a 'thin blue line' plate in the back window.

My car just died today :( 317 000 kms and a LOT of adventures together! I had a bumper sticker that said "I'd Rather Be Snake Hunting" with a rattlesnake in a heart, a SCUBA sticker in the bottom of my rear window in the center, and a plushie wheel cover with paw prints on it! I love the steering wheel cover...it made the grip thicker and easier on my arthritic hands and wrists, and kept it from being burning hot or icy cold whatever the weather! I'm so going to miss my old car...glad I didn't have the windscreen replaced because of a crack last week as i'd planned!

Congrats on the new car!

My car is pretty covered in G4 Rainbow Dash I got off Etsy. On my back windshield I have a silhouette Rainbow Dash, vintage-style cameo RD, and a red TF2 Scout logo. Side door window with the gas tank has RD's cutie mark (because I keep forgetting which side of the car my tank is.) My rearview mirror has a blind bag Applejack on a chain hanging off it, I just converted a keychain that didn't sell into a dangler. Eventually going to get Princess Cadance's cutie mark to put somewhere.

And then of course my iPod audio cord. I cannot drive without it, I have horrible driving anxiety and my iPod is my security blanket.

Seatbelt clips and cute little seatbelt covers are nice and make things much more comfortable.  Also, a dash pad to protect your dash from the heat.  They work wonders.  My two cars have both been the same model ( I love the model, they're great cars, Pontiac Grand Am SE2, and now I have a Grand AM GT, so I was able to use my dash cover from my poor, ruined Grand Am ( wreck ) to the new one. ) and they're famous for getting dash damage, but I've never had an issue with it because of them.  I bought the GT in March, and she unfortunately had some dash damage when I got her.  It's mostly been fixed, and what ugly is still left is well and covered now, and I shouldn't have any more issues with damage with the cover in place now.  :3

I'm looking for some embossed Grand AM mudflaps / quarter skirts.  Not really there for anything but show, but I like the look of them on the cars and covers up a bit of wheel well that doesn't look exactly attractive.  I'm also about to drop around $500 on brake upgrades.  I'm getting some heavy duty rotors and brake pads to replace the current set up.  After that, I'm sticking a Borla exhaust on her, so she makes lots of deep rumblies.  *.*  Those are *my* kind of accessories, hahaha.  I'm also wanting to put some Trans Am blue stripes on her.  She's kind of plain being white.  She did have some pin stripes on her when I got her in March, but I've stripped them off because they were pretty ate up.

On a suggestion, as the daughter of a mechanic, one of the *best* upgrades you can make, WHEN the car is ready for new brake pads, to forgo the OEM brake pads.  Almost all the companies use cheap ones that wear very quickly.  I *swear* by ceramic brake pads.  They last longer( probably 2x the stock ones ), they wear more evenly, and there is SO much less dust, so you aren't cleaning your wheels every other week.

I got a bunch of those stupid "my family" bumper stickers, all cats bar one crazy looking lady and put them on the back of mine. Gives others a laugh.

I also have a couple of mario 1up mushrooms, as you need a couple of extra lives on the road here in Victoria (Australia). I called my ute (pick up truck for you yanks) Paris, so I also have a little chihuahua plush with a pink feather boa that ive had since I brought the car. And seat covers in a bright colour is a must I feel, I had hot pink ones for years but they needed tobe replaced so I found a set of hot lime green ones, its a great way to personalize without going over the top :) and there are a big range of colours, designs and patterns out there for anybodys taste.
