PC/advice on selling some BJDs
« on: July 30, 2014, 09:43:58 AM »
I have a couple of BJDs that I need to rehome due to a change in circumstances, what do you guys think about pricing/general advice on selling? Is this the best place for selling or do you prefer DoA or some other place?

The dolls in question:
Fairyland PukiFee Ante in tan, as new, company faceup +extra hands
Soom MD Keny, with hooves +mask, lovely faceup and hooves blushing by Millimina, currently unstrung
Soom MD Glot, company faceup, slightly yellowed, all fantasy parts

ETA: Thanks for all the advice, I am not selling any others right now, I need to finish some ongoing transactions first. Thanks!

I think you would have better luck on DoA, but that's just my opinion.  I'd definitely be interested in your Cheshire if you're selling him.

I think you'll have better luck on DoA too, but if you wanted to offer here first you certainly could. I'd been looking for a tan ante (or a soom keny for that matter, love that doll) but I just put a payment down on another doll.

Tan dollies are the best!  *is biased*

DoA will have more traffic, but you can always offer here first and see if you have any luck.  I'd point my mom towards your tan Ante (she loves the PKF she bought from SwordPony and has mentioned she wished she would have bought a tan PKF if she'd known how much she'd like the size and color last year when I was ordering), but she has informed me that I am a terrible enabler who is not to show her any more pretty dolls.  XD

BUT..........  Depending on your asking price and time frame (I just put a down payment on a MNF body for my Juri '13 head and also bought a PKF body for the little bitty Juri '14 I will be getting WITH that body), I might be interested in Keny.  Because I love tan dolls and hooves.  He could be friends with my Beyla lol.

I'd suggest DOA for the most exposure. I sold my tan pukifee ante with company faceup for $375 shipped a few months back. I started my price at $400.

Actually, is it still fairly difficult to sell things on DoA?

I see the threads in Marketplace gets bumped and bumped for pages, and their item is still not sold...

I'm getting worried because there are some dolls that I must sell.

Ok, thanks for the PC Vertefae and the other points of view.

Lavandula, I think selling high price items like BJDs is always going to take a little bit of time, but from what I've seen most of the sales threads on DoA that seem to run forever are ones that are way too high in price, or ones that are damaged/unpopular dolls.

Ah thanks.
That's good to know. I hope the price I listed was ok.

Just out of curiosity, what are you selling?

Not really taking on any more transactions right now, but I won't be parting with her for less than $400.
