Is it more difficult to work with yarn than with nylon hair?

I think yarn is easier and a tad quicker. you only have one thick hair instead of a bunch of thin hairs ;-)
I know a lot of people don't like the look of yarn - but I really like it.

I agree. I'm usually not a fan of yarn-haired ponies. But your AJ is adorable! I really like her.

Yes it is embroidery floss-type yarn I use - I think it is meant for crocheting, but is the same strength as normal embroidery floss. And I have started using it for embroidery... looks nearly the same.
