Brandon Mull's "Spirit Animals" Book Series

I don't consider myself a big reader these days; I mostly only read during my Summer vacation and only stick to my main favorite authors. One of these are Brandon Mull; I've read the awesome Fablehaven series three times now and finally own the complete series! I also own his trilogy Beyonders and am currently reading the second book in that series. Couple of months ago I found out that he has released a new book series called Spirit Animals (or at least that's what it's called here in Sweden) and my initial thought was to buy the first book, but I'm unsure if it will be as greast as his others since the books are apparently linked to an online game? 

So I'm wondering if there's anybody else here on the Arena that's familiar with Brandon Mull's books and might even have read the first part in the SA series called Wild Born?
