I'm in college and I still collect but most of it is catching stuff on clearance or hitting yard sales and thrift stores.

Basically what I did mostly in college as well as pickup anything I was searching for in the stores but I mostly used birthday/holiday money for those . ;D

I'm another one that actively began collecting in college, but I also had some very fortunate circumstances to allow me to do so.  I managed to keep up with G3 releases as they came, minus the super hard to find girls (Licensing Show/Rosey Posey/Fair ponies) of the time, and pick away at select G1s.
