Anniversary Retro Re-Release Ponies - G1 or G3?

interesting topic, I would say G1 as they have the shape of G1

I think of them as G1s.

I ended up putting them on my G3 spreadsheet. I guess really them and Dollymix probably should just have their own separate sheet...

I'd say they're still G1s. I just go off of the appearance and general "style" of the pony personally.

If I had to choose between G1 and G3, I'd say G3. But I like the idea of making a separate category for ponies who were created with the aesthetic of a certain generation, but outside of that generation's time frame. So I'd couple them with the Dollymixes and the strange new Firefly

I listed them on my tracking as G1s, based on their body mold (and where they are on my shelves). But I also have a column for "year", and for them I put 25 so I know they are the repros.

I would say G1. There was a mini Firefly brushable released recently, but she's not G4 is she?

It's a hard one to choose, but I would say they are almost in there own category.  Are Funkos really considered g4 since they are just licensed by Hasbro? Hmmm....maybe collectors will be asking that question ten years from now.

I would count Funkos as G4 personally, since they're in the G4 style and were released during G4. But that's just me.

I call Funkos merch - for me thats what they are licensed merchandise and not part of the actual line. It really is to each their own I guess
