Does it bother you if your collection is 'uneven'?

Nah. My G2s will never catch up with any of the other generations. Out of the hundreds of ponies I have, I have under 20 G2s!

I need to have my amount of ponies that have a divisible number. Right now my collection is stuck at 197...what number goes into 197 evenly? Nada! 

Its mostly for play and organizing purposes though when I need an even number...can't wait to hit 200 X_X

I don't mind my generations being unequal (although, I feel like my G1s and G2s are quite lacking, but I only started collecting them recently).  However, for a while, I did try to keep my G4 collection perfectly balanced between unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies.  But being my favorites, the unicorns took over pretty quickly, and there are way more of them now.

It bothers me that I'm missing one or two from a set, like FS Applejack from my FS set and Trickles from my Second set of Rainbow-Haired ponies.  But, I'd rather have the holes in my collection than pay for the FS AJ or get a Trickles with age spots and/or rust, which ALL of them seem to have!

Not in terms of numbers, but in terms of races. I have noticed that I lack pegasus ponies. Pegasi designs just don't seem to appeal to me as much. I only have a few G1s. I started to come up with a few custom designs for pegasi so I can work on that diversity in my herd

I made my number of pegs up in G1 with de-flocked ponies

Nope - not something that annoys me. Although I do not like when I have ponies which are incomplete and missing an accessory.

As lovesbabysquirmy says, there is no right way and certainly no wrong way to collect - its whatever makes you happy

Not at all. I have 100s of G1s, 8 G2s, 3 G3s, and 3 G4s in my collection.

Unless you're a completionist, I don't think it should matter at all.  I have a small nostalgia collection myself (which I think makes me a non-collector to some people's eyes), so I'm a big believer in thinking there are no rules to this kind of thing.

If your collection makes you happy, then it's not really uneven at all, is it?

I love having a sprinkling of just the things I like best.  Otherwise I tend to be a completionist collector, and fortunately that is nearly impossible with so many generations of ponies. 

I have noticed that there seem to be way more G4s around lately, so I recently did a severe herd prune.
