Impatient buyer
« on: March 29, 2014, 06:43:57 AM »
So I sold a funko on eBay, and very quickly the person contacted me to ask for shipping information because eBays estimated date didn't take into account my terms said shipping could take two business days.

Their message
I was wondering when my item would be shipped as I paid for it an it said it would be here by or before March 22nd and today is the 20th. Thanks!

They bought the item at 3/18 at 11:00 at night.
My response

Hi,
eBay gives the estimated times, and doesn't look at the handling time (2 full business days).  I will be getting it packed up today to go out. I work full time, 7:30am-6pm and prefer to hand deliver to the post office as I don't trust to leave them outside for the post man to pick up.  So I have to do it on one if my off days.

Thanks

So they left me a neutral

Wasn't thrilled w/the respond when asked about shipping. Otherwise 100% happy!!

I would use caution with this buyer, very unrealistic expectations on shipping, and apparently doesn't read terms of the auction.  I asked eBay to remove the feedback but I am not holding my breath.

Wow what an annoying buyer people do have a life! but according to her your not aloud one

Tbh I think ebay should delete the feedback as it said in your listing about your shipping policies,

Your response wasn't rude at all, you simply stated your terms which is fair enough,
Just because she didnt like the fact that she was 'corrected' she leaves you neutral that is very unfair

*fingers crossed* that ebay delete it for you  ^.^

Sometimes I think people expect seller to magically deliver packages. I love the ones where they demand shipping information after the purchase at like 9 p.m.

It's like "yeah lemme find my local 24/7 post office jus a second"

I mail one day a week, and it's always listed right where it can be read. I still have people having a for over it. It's that instant gratification generation.

That was a very unfair buyer. People have lives outside of eBay! And you list in your auction that you have a 2-day handling time. Since you have that in your terms, I'm pretty sure eBay will remove the feedback. I would call them if they don't.

I know!  I'm so annoyed that I had to stop myself from sending them a email about proper eBay etiquette.

Apparently shipping her funko pony ASAP (which it was shipped in 48 hours) is more important then my job.  I should of taken a day off from work to mail it.   I sometimes will ship on my lunch break, but I work as the only veterinary tech  at a vet hospital and a lot of times I don't get lunch, or we have a sick or operated animal I do not want to leave.

Maybe I should be getting on ebays case because it's been a few hours and I havn't heard back about getting the feedback removed *insert sarcasm*

I did leave what I felt was appropriate feedback. Stating they left a neutral for not shipping in 24 hours, please read terms of auction. Fast payment.

I can't do much else then that and responded to my neutral.

This is my biggest bug bear on ebay and I had a moan in another thread about it as well [although I dont think my opinion was too popular LOL]. So many buyers are unreasonable in their expectations. If you are buying on ebay people need to accept 90% of the time they are buying from people who are hobby sellers or people who are simply selling to make a little money out of things they have lying around. Therefore there has to be an allowance which factors in everything from the time the auction ends [around the world] to the fact that not everyone can get to a post office within 48 to 72 hours.

I would watch you dont get into trouble for a false positive on the feedback you left - even though what you said was honest. And I would certainly be asking ebay about a revision on your own feedback - that is so unfair and unreasonable!

Honestly I don't care if I get in trouble for being honest.  eBay cares so much about their buyers,  that sellers have no right to complain or warn other about bad buyers in their mind.  They seem focus so much on their buyers that they sure seem to forget that the sellers are the ones that bringing the products and pay the fees.

what a nuisance! I think they expected you to magically grow wings and personally fly the item to them that night they paid. How dare you make them wait... 48 hours after payment *gasp* :faint:
very unreasonable

This is the type of situation I find annoying too - that ebay estimates a time and more often than not its totally out, and unreasonable. I had an international buyer recently asking for their item 2 days after they paid for it (apparently when I checked, ebay was estimating it to reach them within like,. 3 days   )

I hope you can get that feedback revised. I;m not holding my breath either , but I still hope they do something for you

That would be awsome if I could grow wings on my packages and make them fly!! My cat would love that too!

Seriously though. Unless it's a gift I usually don't start asking about shipping until we are at least 5-7 days past the date they said they would ship.  People's lives get busy and yes while shipping something you sold promptly is a good idea sometimes things happen and it gets put on the back burner.

Actually I have been known t refund shipping if I am running late on shipping as a apology.  But I am not going to apologize to a person when I didn't do anything wrong!

So I've contacted eBay twice about this situation and they seem to be ignoring me...guess I will need to call them which I hate.
