Customs I've made (not the best yet)
« on: March 24, 2014, 06:09:09 AM »
Hello! I'm new here and I just wanted to post some customs of mine! They are through my deviant art since for some odd reason photo bucket is being mean and won't let me retrieve my password through my email. So here are my first three! (well, technically my first, third and fourth. My second is with my tutor, a G4, and I forgot to take pictures.)

I design all customs myself and use Americana multi-surface satin paint. Currently the only one for sale is Rosella, which I will be selling soon on ebay. Neon Rayz and ESPECIALLY Jeko Pony are mine. The reason Jeko pony is so special to me is for some reason she is like a lucky charm (wherever I take her, good things happen.  )
And, she is also based off of an original character I designed. If you however want a Jeko Pony for some odd reason, I will be happy to make you one as long as you do NOT claim the design as your own or claim the name as your own, or change the name.
My ponies are made pretty durable, if I do say so myself (even though I haven't found a good sealer yet since I can't STAND modge podge, but the americana duraclear satin stuff is working well so far on my next pony which I will be selling, named Glass Tears)
I would like some feedback on the quality of my ponies. The fact I'm only fifteen and just started isn't an excuse, but keep it in mind when you're writing a nasty letter about how they're no good, you know? I just really wanted to sell one so I had more money for supplies to make more. And I honestly hate to part with Rosella- she turned out really good, at least to me.
Alright, that about does it. Comments and feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

They look good! The improvements that could be made will naturally come with practice (increased brush control, more detailed symbols, smoother lines). However, maybe work on trying to control the hair a bit better. If the hair is well groomed it can make the custom look alot better and will show it off in it's best light.

I agree with kaoskat, especially about the hair. A few things could be improved. Work on thinning the paint and paint in layers. Invest in a few good brushes, detailbrushes for eyes etc. For sealant I always recommend Testor's Dullcote. It can be found at Michael's and Walmart for $5 a can and it lasts for a few ponies.

I wish you good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing more ponies from you :)
