Question on pony vacations/outdoor photos
« on: March 23, 2014, 06:23:28 PM »
I see a lot of people that take their ponies different places and take photos of them - vacations, to the zoo, to the park, etc. Do you only use ponies that you have doubles of? Or ponies that you are not emotionally attached to? I would love to take pics of Milkweed and Tumbleweed, but I'm terrified they would get dirty, I'd drop them over a cliff or in a river, their hair would get full of leaves or any other problem that I wouldn't want them subjected to.  :nope:

Maybe I worry too much.  :freak:

I only take my scruffier ponies out. Usually my childhood Glory.

I have taken a few of my childhood ones with me. I took some pics of my G3's. I think it's a personal preference..

I have taken collection ponies, but that was because I went out with a friend who had that particular pony in her childhood! But usually I take g3's, those magnets come in handy, and make them much harder to lose. Also, if you do lose/damage one, they're usually pretty easy to replace.

I usually take doubles, unless it's a special occasion - I took my collection Sparkler for a carousel shot, and I took her out for about five minutes for a couple photos, then zoom, right back into my purse she went! :lmao:

I'm the same way, I'm always afraid I'll damage them or lose them somehow! I also recommend carrying a purse with a zipper, it provides a lot of peace of mind when it comes to wandering ponies! ;)

I think if its common enough ponies then even if you did loose them they are going to be relatively easy to replace. However if they are important for sentimental reasons then I probably would not take them anywhere :P

I dont tend to go further than the estate where I stay for countryside photographs so while I do tend to use collection ponies, neither I nor the ponies are really straying too far so its not too much of a worry.

However, if its a concern to you then I would say either take doubles or so something like have a special little travel case/bag/pouch for your ponies and just take extra special care of them when you are out. Having them in a special area will hopefully help you keep an eye on them and make sure you check them regularly...so they dont wander off :P
