1. Do you wear jewelry? any allergies related?I love jewelry, but am allergic to most costume jewelry (at least for earrings... I'm able to wear it otherwise). I like earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets.
2. Army pony? Not really, though I will never turn down a G1 Rainbow Windy.
3. Specific things that are or are not okay on ponies?Acceptable flaws: I am okay with minor imperfections on the non-display side, in-ground dirt, dry hair, loose tail washers, writing under hooves, small ink spots, minor hair cuts, minor blush rubs, and minor tail rust.
Unacceptable flaws: I don’t like pony cancer, though if it's a hard to find pony, I would probably be okay with it if it's not too bad. I also don't like pink highlighter marks or saddle sores, large ink stains, obvious head/body mismatch, very frizzy hair, missing plugs, chew marks, eye/symbol rubs, etc.
**I would rather have one or two near-mint ponies than several okay/good ones.**4. What do you like to do in your 'spare' non-pony time?I love to hang out with my husband and kiddos, catch up with family and friends on Facebook, watch shows/movies with my husband at night while the kids are sleeping, sing, draw, and bake. Outside the home I love to meet up with friends, shop, travel, visit museums, and go to Disney World (we live only an hour away now).
5. Do you prefer one big item or multiple smaller items? It honestly really depends. I would rather have quality over quantity, but if it happens to be a bunch of little things that are cool and I can use instead of wondering what the heck I'm donna do with it, then I am fine with several small items.
6. Any type of food/candy you love/hate?Likes:
I like chocolate w/ almost any variety of nut except hazelnut. Dark chocolate is preferred but I enjoy white chocolate also, or milk chocolate when it's paired with biscuit, nougat, nuts, peanut butter, caramel, salt, mint, or coconut. Also like white chocolate.
Favourite brands are Ghirardelli, Lindt, Moser Roth, and Green & Black's. As a chocoholic, I also really enjoy chocolate-covered raisins, M&Ms, Hershey's Kisses w/ almonds, Kit Kats, Twix, and Butterfingers. Of the non-chocolate variety, I like cinnamon and root beer flavoured candies, Jelly Bellies, Starburst, Sour Patch Kids, and Runts. I love, love, LOVE pink wintergreen mints (also called Canada mints), but they can be tough to track down. Cookies, cupcakes, fudge, and divinity are also quite welcome, though may be difficult to ship.
Note: If my partner is from the UK, I also really like tablet and Dip Dabs.
Dislikes:
Most gummy sweets (although I love Sour Patch Kids and Jelly Babies)
Salty licorice
Chocolate-hazelnut (but I do like Ferrero Rocher for some reason)
Chocolate-orange
Partner, do you like coffee or tea, maybe both? Both.
Coffee: I prefer beans over ground, but I don't mind ground if it's in those vacuum-sealed Millstone ones. I tend to go for medium or dark roasts, but not so dark that it will create a hole in my stomach, lol. I am perfectly happy with a no-nonsense cup o' joe, but if you do buy flavoured coffee, I like hazelnut, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice the best. Nothing chocolatey, please. I am always willing to try new brands, but I especially like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.
Tea: I like either loose leaf or bags, not picky there. I like green, black, and herbal. Favourites are Good Earth Original Sweet & Spicy Blend Decaf and Constant Comment, although I have plenty of both at the moment so no need to include any in my box.
I like Teavana and Whittard of Chelsea (both fancy-shmancy, I know). I also like Twinings and Celestial Seasonings. A friend of mine introduced me to Celestial Seasonings Sugar Plum Spice this winter and I LOVED it. I also love apricot or peach black tea. Oh, and Teavana's white chocolate peppermint. Chai is good, too. Or a light floral. Nothing lemony or berry, please.
What sort of handmade goods might you like partner? Soaps? Candles? Honey? Incense?Handmade soaps and candles are both great, whether made by you or some crafty person at a fair or on Etsy.
No to honey and incense, please. I love honey, but we get GREAT local honey here in Florida. And incense is a lovely idea but most scents tickle my nose, and not in a good way.
Do you have children and/or pets? Four kiddos, three lads and one wee lass.
Gabe turns 12 in a week, Noah is 11 at the end of May, Marion is 3 in June, and Philip is nearly 4 months old.
bit of a strange Question but say that you knew who was sending you a box and they were from england what is the one question that you would ask them?If someone were visiting England for the first time, where would you recommend they go? Pick your top five (cities, towns, museums, castles, shopping, beaches, regions, etc.).
Do you have one concrete style which you like? Like vintage, kitsch, goth, etc?Definitely not kitsch or goth, at least not as a general rule. I like vintage as long as it's clean, classic, and in good repair. Not a huge fan of knick-knacks unless it's something special or only on display for the holidays. I love anything that is functional and practical, and if it's pleasant to look at, that's a bonus. Think elegant efficiency, beauty and brains, sensible yet stunning.
Generally-speaking, I want my home to be a place that is warm and welcoming, safe for children but also stylish. I like a blend of decorating styles, including (but not limited to): Country French, cottage, farmhouse, shabby chic, flea market, traditional, classic, retro, vintage, and rustic.
What colors are your favorite and which ones dominate in your room/house?Cream, dark brown, rosy floral, sage, and duck egg blue are the colours in our family room right now. Materials I like are brushed bronze, cast iron, granite, faux leather, suede, pine, and cotton. Our bedroom furniture is classic black with brushed silver knobs, and our comforter set is black, white, and platinum. Bathroom is robin's egg blue, cream, and tan with accents of dark brown, copper, and sage. Guest bathroom is cream, dark brown, and sage. Boys' room is pine/oak with dark blue, light blue, and white bedding. Marion's room has mainly white furniture accented with bold pastels like Minnie Mouse pink, Kawaii green, and grape bubblegum. There are splashes of bright blue and yellow, too. A welcoming rainbow of colour.
Do you like scrapbooked albums? Or maybe you like scrapbooking yourself? If you have favorite music bands, favorite book authors, online writers or artists, who are they?Music: I like Josh Groban, Jamie Cullum, Sarah Groves, Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Coldplay, Adele, Bette Midler, Louis Armstrong, Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby, Bethany Dillon, Oren Lavie, Zach Sobiech, Will Smith, Pharrell Williams, Watermark, Off Kilter, John Williams, Demi Lovato, ABBA, Newsboys, DC Talk, Jeremy Camp, Third Day, Karl Jenkins. I'm a big fan of Disney soundtracks. Currently loving Froze, Brave, and Tangled. Love listening to classical and Christmas music, too.
Books: C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien. Basically, if the first name is an initial, I probably like that author, lol. I like books by Michael Ende (I have read The Neverending Story and Momo but would love to read others). I am always open to new authors, but genres I particularly like are children's literature, fantasy, and classic (i.e. Austen, Dickens, Dumas, etc.). I don't mind a romance novel as long as it's not racy, but those are tough to find. Mysteries are good, but again, nothing gruesome or sexy. I tend not to like most "modern day woman" type of novels for whatever reason. Biographies, cultural, and historical are also good. I like books that teach you how to do something, like cooking, decorating, writing, napkin-folding etc.
Is there something you collect from every place you visit? E.g. fridge magnets, bookmarks, postcards, stationary, keychains?I like magnets, bookmarks, postcards, books, playing cards, ornaments, and coasters. Or food, souvenirs, etc. that are unique to a specific place.
What are your favorite landmarks or places you visit when visiting other cities/states/countries?I love it all! Museums, local shopping, monuments, theme parks, nature... I am a continual tourist, ready to explore a brand new place or discover what's right in my own backyard.
Scents?Autumnal scents, foodie scents (i.e. coconut, cupcake, apple, black cherry, chocolate, marshmallow, pomegranate, lime). I also like bergamot, lavender & vanilla, and sandalwood.
Do you like rehairs? Customs?I like original rehairs but don't typically like made-up ones unless it's for an entirely unique custom. And yes, I like customs. I like G1 and G3 molds the best. I would eventually like a custom of the G3 Breast Cancer Awareness pony. Official name is Ribbons & Hearts. A custom of Baby Minty in the G1 mold would also be awesome.
What is your favorite time of year? why?Autumn and winter. I love the holidays during that time of year. I like warm sweaters, soft blankets, and crackling fires. It also evokes great memories for me, like riding the steam train through the Scottish highlands in the height of autumn, or walking around Edinburgh in the dead of winter for the foodie festival. We crunched through snow, drank hot cider and cocoa, ate roasted chestnuts... good times.
do you like mlp merch etc/ craft/ art supplies if it is some how relevant to the swap box?Absolutely.
Do you use journals, stationary and note cards?Yes.
If I were to get you a shirt, would you prefer male/female/unisex and what size?I'm fine with any as long as the shirt is neither too form-fitting nor too loose. A men's small or a woman's small/medium, depending on the shirt.
Do you enjoy history?Yes.
what kind of comic con exclusive would you like? Probably a bag, maybe a pin badge.
Would you prefer just one expensive pony on your list or a few cheaper ponies on your list? Any ponies on my wish list are great, but ones with asterisks beside them are the most wanted. Some of those are on the expensive side, but there are at least a few that are fairly affordable I think.
Hypothetically speaking, if I got you a pony that is a bit on the rarer side, and it has some small fault (only ones you have stated you are okay with of course) but it's also something I think I could quite easily fix (some missing plugs, tail rust, things like that) would you prefer me to restore them for you, or would you rather get the pony as it is? If you know how to do it and wouldn't mind, then any restoration would be wonderful.
Do you have a favorite fragrances or smell? As listed above in scents.
Do you have any favorite animals? I am especially fond of Beagles.
Do you have any other collections besides MLP?As listed above in "other likes and collections"
Partner, how do you feel about Flutter Ponies?I like them! I'm pretty sure I have all of them, but I would eventually like an upgrade of Pink Dreams and Yum Yum. No urgency on that front, though, since I at least have them.
Partner, are there any particular ponies you would like most for me to get?I've put asterisks next to the ponies I really want, but if I had to pick a top five, it would be Moon Jumper, Love Token, Baby Ribbs, TE Quackers, and Mint Dreams.
Partner, if you have a pony on your wantlist which has a variant that is different, for example in Europe than in US, which one do you want? Or do you prefer CP ponies to have concave or flat feet? Or, if you collect variants, would you like both?Umm.... I don't know! I will have to check my list. I'm okay with concave or flat, and I don't need to have multiple variants unless specifically requested.
How do you feel about a minimal body-head discoloration? If it's one of the core G1s, like Majesty or Sprinkles, then I would prefer no head/body mismatch. If the pony is harder to find, then I would probably be okay with minimal discoloration.
If I got you a pony which has a small haircut to few strands of hair in their mane, would you like me to add it as an extra pony as it is, or restore it by rehairing it? If you're willing to rehair, then that would be great since I don't know how, but if it's only a small trim then it's not a big deal either way.
Hey, Partner? If you're in a country that isn't getting the McPonies, would you like them? Any single one of them, or all of them?I don't collect McPonies.
Would you be interested in seeing pictures (and getting a story from) a small museum raid? That sounds cool!
I am just starting to look around for extras for you box partner is there anything special that you would like me to get?No special requests, but the more unique it is to your local area or country, the better.
If all of your pictures have a theme/story, would you like them organized in a small photo album or loose with info written on the back of the pictures? That's totally not necessary, but if it's something you have the time and desire to do, then I would love that.
Hey, Partner? Gots me a pony that is on your wishlist...she's in good condition, but she's one of those ponies who are...kinda painted all over (trying not to give away who it is) and has a few typical rubs because of it. Are you against touch-ups? Her hair is long and lovely, and she isn't a common pony AT ALL...so....yeah. Whaddya think?I can't say for sure without knowing what pony it is, but I would err on the side of wanting no touch-ups.
Dear Partner, do you mind alternate re-hairs?There are a few I've seen that I think are really cool, but generally I don't prefer alternate re-hairs.
Partner would you like photo's of wildlife (birds, deer, bugs etc)?Sure!
Partner. Weird crazy question. Would you be interested in animal bones if I clean them up right? I found the skull of something yesterday and thought it might be a cool extra. No, thank you.
Not grossed out or anything (in fact, I would love to see it!), just not interested in receiving this sort of thing.
Partner if i found one of your most wanted and impossible to find ponies, and it has a little trouble standing(this pose tends to have this problem) and has a tiny hole in one of the ears,( which could probably be hidden when the hair is styled) would you still want her?Yes, please send her.
Okay, another pony came in. . . She has tail rust. I can fix it, and really quite easily, but I don't know if my partner will mind or not. She's not the most hard to find pony BUT is a international exclusive.Hey, if you know how to clean tail rust effectively, then I would be most appreciative since I'm not very good at cleaning it myself.
Partner, do you like cars? Sometimes they have an antique car show when the weather gets better and I have a pony for you that would look awesome with them!I wouldn't call myself someone who is "into" cars, but I do like watching car restoration shows and I love seeing classic cars or cars that are unique in any way, so I would definitely be down with a cool photo op like that.
Do you like art? Do you have a favorite artist or type of art?Photographers:
Scott Mutter (surrational images)
Andy Goldsworthy (photographs his own work, created with nature)
Classical Artists:
Vincent Van Gogh (Almond Blossoms, Irises, Starry Night)
Gustave Caillebotte (Les raboteurs de parquet)
Claude Monet
Modern Artists:
Lowell Herrero (Cypress and Hay, Lavender Landscape)
Bev Doolittle (The Forest Has Eyes, Pintos, Season of the Eagle)
M.C. Escher
Mary Engelbreit
Julian Beever (known for his pavement pictures that seem life-like)
Norman Rockwell
Katsushika Hokusai (The Great Wave Off Kanagawa)
Jan Brett (writes and illustrates children's books)
Partner do you like flavored popcorn (caramel corn, fruity, cheese, chocolate etc.)? If so what kinds do you like? Any kind you don't like?I like caramel corn and kettle corn, but pretty much just caramel corn. Chicago style, yum!!
