Is this a good deal?

I have the opportunity to buy this lot of ponies. The seller lives a distance from me, so I can't examine them in person. Do you guys think this lot is worth $90? (That includes shipping.) I'm a little leery because I can't tell if they have awful flaws. In the description, they range from "excellent to fair condition," and I can see some flaws from these pictures (Baby Sweet Stuff is discolored, Sealight looks like she has marks of some kind). But I like to buy in lots because I don't have a lot of money to spend right now, and selling the ones I already have helps me afford them. There are 39 ponies total.

I would resell a good three-fourths of them and keep some of the ones I've wanted for a while (like Trickles and Flowerburst).

Oh, and the seller also gave me her Ebay ID and has very good feedback there. The transaction would be through PayPal.

I think that is not to bad of a deal, There are some that make it worth it in the lot. The main thing is if your ok with the price and ponies:)

For USD I have no clue - But it would convert into £54.13
I have a rule about buying ponies - I spend no more than £1 a pony.

I wouldn't personally wouldn't buy them because of the total loss I would have, as I would be spending an extra £15 for extra dirty/marked/bait coniditon ponies!

Even though bundles are ment to be cheaper, and more of a discount, If i'm honest with you - doesn't really seem like a bargin/good deal to me!

But if you do - I don't mind taking that little sea pony from ya ;D haha!

Oh goodness yes, most of those look like they will clean up fine.    All those SHS and babies...  plus some of the later year sought-after ponies!  Including shipping that's excellent to me.  If it looks like it's been spat out by a dog and getting liver spots from discoloration, it's worth about $1.00, but anything else can be restored for the most part.  Maybe $2 or $3 for a really ratty looking ones, but even your early year commons look like they need a style and a wash.   

Don't forget, 99% of G1s have factory flaws so they often have issues, but that's no reason to customize them or think they are worthless.  The attitude you hear about better quality controls is just nostalgia on G1 collectors' part.

You know...it works out at a little over $2 a pony, which isn't bad even if theyre a t.l.c lot. The like of Flowerbelle would probably be a $30 pony by herself, a Starglow around $15-20, though the glow ponies have gone so popular all of a sudden..!

Its up to you really if youre happy with the price/ponies, though for the sake of arguement if you bought them all to resell you would easily make your money back

Its an interesting lot because while there are certainly some ponies which are worth significantly more than the $2 average there are also a lot there that if in poor condition are hard sellers. I would say if you want to take the game $2 per pony is a great deal - even if they are all in poor condition then you can probably resell most of them for bait of around that exact price. So you are not going to make a loss.

For me, I would be tempted to say it was too much for a lot with so many commons. However, it is probably going to partly come down to which ponies you would be planning to keep - if you are keeping Flowerbelle, the Teeny Tiny Twins, Glider, Trickles and Star Glow or most of them then, subject to condition you may find it an expensive lot.

Personally. I think that is a little steep. Those G2's and G3's are sickly common as are the vast majority of those G1's. However, I tend to find hundreds of ponies a year in thrift stores and rummage sales, and I usually get at least one non-collector who has a big lot of ponies to sell for a buck or two a piece. I rarely pay anywhere near collector price for ponies.

Okay, thanks so much, guys, for your input! I'm not planning on keeping some of the more expensive ones, so I think my costs should even out. I asked the seller for some more specifics on their condition, and she was really nice, sending me lots of descriptions and pictures. We negotiated a slightly lower price because of some of the ponies' faults and I'm going to buy. I think it should work out. *hooves crossed*

Glad she went a little cheaper for you! That is a nice lot. My eyes are big to see so many Ponies in one place. Most of them don't look too bad from the pictures, although I know pictures can be deceiving. Glad she gave you some other pictures too!
