To be fair, a lot of the minor shade differences are just plastic ageing and batch differences though. Hasbro did not intentionally create hundreds of different shades so that every pony has a unique colour, even MOC I have had brushes which are very slightly different from one to the other. Its no different than how some ponies suffer from different batch issues. But I understand the frustration of having to go through every item.

If you dont want to sell them individually, what about just a big lot on ebay and see where the bidding goes? Set yourself a reserve so you still get what you wish for them?

I think that'd be an auction to watch. I'd bid but I don't have a lot of funds so winning would be out. Still, the idea of a giant brushes and comb lot is kind of a like visiting the pony mount Olympus to me

Auctioning is not a bad I've seen some sell for $300 before, but recently 2 weeks ago I don't think ANY of my ponies sold for more than $5 on auction.

A reserve would be a good thing.

Chipster, are these all basic, common combs? Or do you have some special ones? I'm looking for Tex's comb, so I thought I'd ask.

i would love to see large lots of brushes and combs in an auction starting cheap. i would so bid. i think you could sell more that way and make more money to.  i am currently going through my bags of accessories and sorting them all out.

i could understand selling the big and baby brother combs separate or any other really special ones. or even grouping them by style and color. forget about how your camera takes pictures, as long as people see that there are in fact different shades and your descriptions says "different shades" you are fine.

i think a dollar each is not bad however some brushes and comb colors there are more of and i would personally sell them less then 1 dollar.

This seems like a good thread to ask, since I have very little accessory knowledge, but which combs are the more "special" ones?  I have a Rubbermaid bucket with a lot of accessories packed away, and except for ones that came with childhood ponies, I don't care to keep most of it.  The "pick 10" idea sounds great to me, but I'd have no idea if that's fair to ask for a lot of other stuff too, like baby pony xylophones and other such bits and bobbles.

It's the light blue grasshopper. Oooooh! Now I'm wondering what other stuff you might have . . .

I would guess you could say there is a grade in combs/brushes. The more common they pony they came with the more common the brush/comb normally. Almost every comb/brush has a colour or two which are particularly hard to find. For example although you can say the flower head brushes are one of the most common, there are some colours [i.e. the nightmare to find hot pink and dark purples] which are harder to find than some of the most sought after brushes and combs.

The US "special" combs however tend to be ones which lots of people like to find - so grasshopper combs, racecar combs, frog brushes, puppy brushes, candy combs, lollipop brushes, long handle combs/brushes, cameo combs and guitar brushes not to mention the glitter star combs. Those are the most popular.

Some accessories can be harder to sell - some of the really common items which people dont always like to shell out on shipping for. However other accessories can be pretty sought after. If you start a new thread with a list or picture of what you have, people will quickly point out anything particularly valuable or sought after for you :)
