Collector Pose- MO/Store confirmations please w/ pics
« on: March 03, 2014, 07:40:35 PM »
Finally at the tail end of my collection determining mail orders and store releases of the original 6. Well...4 Bluebell and Minty are still lonely without their CC hoofed counterparts.

I think I have arranged left to right Mail order, Concave Store release, Flat Foot store release. Please confirm this! I've done as much research as my mind can hold, am I right?

Butterscotch-Mail order has golden hair with an almost matching golden body and light brown eyes with the store being more yellow body and blond
Symbols- front to back mo, store ff

Cotton Candy- Bubblegum pink with bubble gum hair- Mine has more Blueish eyes then dark purple Can anyone confirm this as a valid ID marker?

Blossom- Mail Order has a pink body

Snuzzle- This one is harder for me since either the store or mail order has severe symbol fading on one side. My research has me thinking the one on the left is the Mail order with  nice turquoise eyes vs. the light blue eyes and slightly darker grey bodyof the Store version.
symbols- front to back is mo, store, ff- you can see fading in the

Peachy and LemonDrop - Playset ponies
ummm ya Who is who? I didn't really know there were different versions. I guess they were released in different years? So which pony belongs to which year?
Peachy
Lemon Drop

Am I missing any releases? Does Peachy come in a Flat Foot version?

Cotton Candy is right :) The eyes are not a tell tale marker its a body colour thing with her - the eyes are just a paint pigment/batch thing. Blossom is right. Butterscotch is probably right - as long as your store bought Butterscotch is quite faded in her body. Snuzzle unfortunately MO and store bought Snuzzle are virtually identical down to the eye colour and the body colour - the main difference being MOs symbols are a brighter and more vibrant pink. Your middle Snuzzle looks as though she has pigment issues with her eye paint and thats the reason for the difference. The body colour difference certainly confirm different batches but they dont say one is MO and the other is not. Unfortunately all of these girls were released so often and in such incredible volumes there is significant differences in ponies which were released the same way but simply manufactured at slightly different times.

In the second Peachy picture, the one on the right is a later release. There is no way to tell when she was released unfortunately other than after the one on the left. Peachy and the Pretty Parlour got a wide release in stores, across the world and via mail order so its a long period. The opposite for Lemon Drop the one on the left is the later release. Again same issues with the sheer number of releases the set got. You also can get a China and a MO Lemon Drop. And yes there is a FF Peachy :)

Great pics!  Well remember that Cotton Candy had *two* concave store releases--one at the end of Year 1, one for Year 2.  So if the Cotton Candy on the left of your pic is really the MO one (it's a bit hard to tell), then you're missing the Year 2 concave release, who is not bubble gum pink but more of a medium pink.  The Year 2 concave store release is IMO the most common (and most attractive) of all of the Cotton Candys but for some reason that's the one that always gets missed in these discussions :)

I'm not sure if there is an obvious difference between Blossom as she was re-released as a CF in Year 1 and then re-re-released in Year 2.

With Peachy and Lemon Drop I usually just throw my hands up.  Both of them come in what I call a "skinny" pose, which is not an especially attractive pose.  You have the skinny pose for both.  I'd always assumed this was the first pose for both, but I'm going to trust that Hathorcat is right!
Looking for CF Minty, excellent condition! (and maybe Snuzzle and Blue Belle)

Thanks Hathorcat and ValeofSpring. I added pictures of Butterscotch and Snuzzles symbols. You can see why I was hoping the eyes and body would help, I can't trust the symbol color.

Would anybody have Minty and Bluebelle comparison pictures? I have not found much in my searches.

These ponies and this topic of find the mail order could lead a collector insanse
I mean how many ponies does it take to find the mail order
Can you say mass army
Now I will have to be on a quest to see and check mine after I complete my US line
I know I have the concave and the flat foot ponies all and there is a chance I have some mail orders as well
I know I came across some lots that had mail order ponies mostly in them so I guess I need to check all my duplicates spares before I part with those once my collection is complete
Your pictures will bring sanity to pony land Hathorcat! You are a God if you keep us sane pal!!
