Having Trouble Finding Deluxe Luna Dog Tag And New Rarity Keychain

Hello everyone.    So, since I read about the deluxe dog tags (the ones you can see what they are), I've been looking at places like Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, etc and haven't seen any.  I don't know if I'm just getting them when they're all sold out or what.  Walmart is a butt though, because they put the MLP trading cards and dog tags behind the counter in the same area as the cigarettes and stuff so you can't really look at them.  I ask people behind the counter and most people won't let me behind it to look at them and when I ask nicely to help me find a certain one they just look at me like it's a big inconvenience.  I know they are there to prevent theft but geeze.  I actually just want the deluxe Luna one.

Also, I've been trying to get the Rarity keychain they just made but haven't seen any.  Again, I look in Walmart, Target, Toys R Us and if I do see any keychains they are either Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie.  I don't know if Rhode Island is one of the last states to get the newer stuff.  Is anyone else besides me experiencing this?

I'm starting to wonder if the newer stuff just takes longer to get to some places.  It shouldn't take longer to get to Rhode Island considering Hasbro is in the same state.

True. That's Hasbro's headquarters. The toymaking all happen in China and other Asian cities :o that's why Singapore get newer stuff first

My TRU had a few of the Rarity keychains a week or two ago.  I'll check again this weekend and pick up any they might have.

Er... that's a bit of a misinformation. Most toy production take place in China where it's still affordable.  A lot of companies experimented with Vietnam and Thailand but somehow they weren't as viable. Singapore is definitely too expensive to produce anything anymore because rent and labour are so frigging crazy unaffordable. It'll be nice if Singapore produces ponies and we get first dips at everything, but sadly that is not the case.

I think the few factors contributing to us getting things faster sometimes is because

1. We're a small market, so we get lesser quantities in stock.

2. Ponies happen to be popular with the whole Brony movement, so Hasbro SG is motivated to bring in things faster.

3. Unlike the USA, our Hasbro either brings in a whole container filled with toys or they do something called tag-along shipping with other Hasbros in the region, normally Malaysia or Australia because the ship is along-the-way on its route to these countries. The ship has to pass through the straits of Singapore. This means that as long as Hasbro SG can time the "right" moments, they can actually bring in new pony products more frequently. Different Hasbros are also known to band together to bulk up their orders to meet the requirements for exclusive products, and they split the "loot" among themselves.

It is also correct to say some places get new products faster than others because some places are just more accessible, and it also depends on the size of your city and demand for the products. When I lived in Australia, Brisbane used to get ponies so much slower than the other cities like Sydney or Melbourne. It's because Brisbane was more inland, while Sydney had its own port, so it takes time for things to travel. Not to mention, our population size was a lot smaller, so demand was probably not as strong. Sometimes we can wait up till 2-4 months before we see new items that had already appeared in other cities. Oh well... good times.... lol

The Luna and DJ ones were previously exclusives, IIRC. They are on Enterplay's store right now. Also, if you get the Dog Tag binder they have on preorder, you get the previously exclusive-to-flash-sales Pony dog tag, too.

I have seen a lot of people not being able to find the Rarity key chain. I can imagine its frustrating. The only thing I can say is that Pinkie and Dash ran for a long time so hopefully Rarity and AJ set a similar pattern and it gives you plenty of time to track them down. Perhaps if you can get a UPC or item number for them you could find out from your TRU if they are planning on getting them in or if they are just hidden somewhere you cant find them in store.

As to the dog tags, the Luna one was always going to be crazy popular and its not been available for that long. While I would recommend buying them from Enterplay direct if you really want it, having heard about their level of customer service you may want to do that with a pinch of salt. I would keep on searching in store or perhaps even add a "wanted" to your Arena signature and perhaps any members who spot it in store will be able to help you out.

I went to the closest TRU today and all I found was 1 Applejack key chain.  No Rarity!  Maybe I'll try across town this weekend.
