Thanks, everyone! My dilemma is I really want primarily pastelly colors and all of this new info on colors is making me worried my ideas are not ideal for a tattoo :silly: Hopefully I will be able to figure one out eventually xD I might need to enlist a friend to help! Haha :P

Based on the colours you would like for your tattoo, your best bet is to go to the artist that you want to do it, and get a consultation. Nothing sucks more than having your heart set on something and then being informed that it's a bad idea.

I'm fair skinned and I have a daffodil on my upper back, it's yellow with blue highlights (makes the yellow pop more), I've had it for 4 years and I always wear sunscreen and the only time I'm outside is when I'm walking or biking and it's not as vibrant as it was the first year. It still looks nice, just not as nice.

A talented and respected artist typically wont refuse to do what you want, but they will try to explain why it's a bad idea or what would work better, I mean your skin is like a walking advertisement for them, so they want their work to look good for years, not just a few months.

Not to mention that the spot you want to get it is notoriously painful and touchups are typically painful regardless of what part of the body they are on.

When I chose the one I have I picked Bubbles from G1. When I was a kid she was the first pony I had ever seen and I swore one day I would own her. My mother looked for years at toy stores for Bubbles but never found one. So when I started collecting, she was the first to be bought off of ebay, and she was the first to be tattooed on my arm.
I think when choosing something like a tattoo of a pony, pick one that truly has meaning to you.

I've only got one tattoo, the symbol of my favorite band, but if I had to get a pony tattoo-- I'd pick my favorite, :muffin: Pony. Perhaps just her cutie mark because I'm not a huge pony fan actually (probably because I didn't come in until G4, even though I loved what I had seen of Tales as a kid)! I really love the atmosphere of the collectors and fans of the series, though, so I love hanging around. :) Also, I do have a few G1s.. <3
