Brilliant Bloom's innards
« on: March 01, 2014, 08:21:50 AM »
So as some of ya'll know, I've been cleaning a big box of G1s and assessing damage as I go. I was really confused when I pulled off Brilliant Bloom's head though- what on Earth is this about??

I don't see any signs of tail rust so it's not essential I access that area I guess... but now I'm afraid to get her wet because of all that metal peg in her neck. Info and advice? She is really dirty and needs to be cleaned one way or another!

Thats her mechanism for the tail (you can pull the tail to be really long and get it back to a shorter tail with bending her head from left to right,... if it still works).
When cleaning her, just dont soak her with water. Try Magic Eraser and a toothbrush so you wont need much water :)

She's a Brush n Grow. If you looked her up to ID her, I would have expected it to say so.

Sometimes not every pony needs a water wash or their heads removed. And with a Brush & Grow there is more value in a pony which works than one which has her mechanism broken. If she does not need cleaned out on the inside,  personally I would put her back together and use baby wipes/magic eraser just on the outside :) They can be rather easy to break unfortunately.

Here are some pictures of what the mechanism looks like apart if you do decide to take it apart - just scroll down http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/misc.html
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
