PC on Italian Parasol? *added question in second reply*
« on: February 08, 2014, 07:56:38 PM »
I spotted one recently (although I don't think the seller ships to the US :C ) and well... FELL IN LOVE!!!  :lovey:
I don't have any experience with international ponies myself, but I think I have seen that Italians don't demand the sky-high prices that other international ponies do. I just wanted to confirm this and find out how much I should expect to pay for her. Thanks in advance for any help! ^^

Edit: Adding a pic just because she's so lovely! <33

So far as I know there are 2 versions of Italian Parasol...this one (tropical colors) and the other which has the regular darker pink stripe (Rainbow). She's more common with a faded body, because the pink coloring used fades easily...a lot of Fireflys end up a very pale pink or even close to white!
For this particular pony i'd pay about $8 USD. She's pretty common, but really beautiful when you get her in hand :)

YAY! Thanks for your response SeashellnBubbles! You helped me determine how much to bid... speaking of which:

Ahh!!!! I got word from the seller that they did indeed ship to the US and I WON THE AUCTION!!!! *HNNNGdead*  :drunk:
I snagged her for a total of 9,00 euro with shipping (somewhere around $12 I think). Not too shabby! She looks very nice from the auction pics, though she has had a mane trim. Here's the auction photo:

It looks like just a few plugs were cut going by these pics... Should I restore them, or just maybe flip her mane over so they're on the underside?

Anyway, I may not not exactly be contending the 'big league' of Nirvanadom, but I'm elated with my score nonetheless! Maybe someday I'll get up the gumption to go after my coveted German Rainbows! (Yeah right lol!)

I love her peach color...she's very pretty :) As far as her hair goes it'll be up to you what you do with her now! If you'd like to replace the plugs, go ahead! I just compared the rainbow colors of my Italian Parasol to my US Confetti, and the colors seem to be an exact match. I'm not a pro, though, so you might want to ask someone fron Customs or rehairing to get a definative answer :)

Oh, one more thing...when you get her you may notice her eyes are poorly stamped (I can't tell on my teeny Blackberry screen) but that's normal for Itaians :) they'll just be off centre, but I think it adds character

I'd flip her mane over, but if you want to replace her plugs please remember to mark her as a rehair ;)

:shakefist: :shakefist: :shakefist: I'm so excited!!! Seller marked her as shipped today!

PKW, I think I am going to just flip her mane over and see if it's noticeable. A decade ago, I wouldn't have batted an eyelash about rehairing, but I'm finding that as I get older (and subsequently as my ponies get older), I am more forgiving of their 'flaws'. BUT yes, if I do decide to replace her plugs I will definitely mark her with an R on the bottom of the hoof. ^^

And zora, that was one of the things I got so excited about when I found the listing! I love nice silky hair on my ponies!
HNNNNNG I can't wait to sniff her!!!! :hearts:
