Kid Icarus: Uprising is a lot of fun, but I also agree with Pokemon X & Y and Animal Crossing

Also don't forget you can buy Eshop cards at retail stores and buy Nes/Snes/Gameboy/ and some exclusive titles from the Nintendo E-shop for your 3DS

I am a sucker for any Mario game and adore the 3D one which is out. I would recommend that to anyone.

The New Pokemon game is a bit fast, but it's so different from the others that it is worth a look. Also, the eshop has a game called Rhythm Thief. It is by far one of the most addicting rhythm games I've ever played. You could also try out this other rhythm game called Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove. It's a nice game about a girl who gets turned into a ghost, meets a bunch of adorable monsters, and must dance her way back to normal.

And if that's not your thing then you could check out the Kid Icarus game. It makes your eyes hurt if you leave the 3D effect on for too long, but it's fun to play.

I second Tales of the Abyss, Tales of is a great series!  I would also HIGHLY recommend Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies is you like crime drama and/or visual novels.  Any Professor Layton game is a good pick if you like puzzle games.

Animal Crossing has been super fun, as has A Link Between Worlds. (I also got Four Swords Anniversary for free the other day, but I haven't played it yet.)

I've also played a little of the Bravely Default demo- it's basically a Final Fantasy game, from what I understand, with a unique battle system. If you have the time and are interested, you might try downloading the demo for that one, depending on how you feel about Final Fantasy and turn-based battle systems.

I also have a recommendation for a game NOT to buy: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know. Boring and poorly done. It's journeying through something like 100 levels of an unchanging dungeon, defeating the same monsters with the same skills and items.

ETA: A friend also has Attack of the Friday Monsters, which I've seen good reviews of, but don't know much about! Looks cute from what I saw.

Thanks everyone! I did download the free LInk game this week. I normally leave the 3D off, it gives me a headache but I wanted the new system to be able to play the new games on too.

Pokemon X/Y was so much fun. I tried to resist getting it but I'm glad I didn't.

I don't have many 3DS games yet, but I played the heck out of A Link Between Worlds, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, and Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies. Dual Destinies is download only which bugs the daylights out of me, but it's worth it. (I fangirled so hard when I heard that the Professor Layton\Phoenix Wright crossover was going to be released here! I have a feeling that's going to be one of my favorite games of all time. )
