Year of the horse G1 Pony discussion; North Star

Hello again, it's a new week, and time again for another G1 pony discussion. This time, we'll be talking about a Pegasus whose cutie mark will always point her in the right direction when you're lost... I'm talking about North Star! A year four so soft pony, North is a Pink Pegasus with a purple mane and a compass rose cutie mark. She also had a daughter, baby North Star, who appearently could be a first tooth pony or sparkle pony, depending on her mood.  (Little joke there, she was actually released in two versions as both). So hip hip, and cheerio

Surprisingly, the cartoon potrayed her as an adventurer, who traveled to far away lands and visited exotic places. She had an insatiable curiosity, which could often get the other ponies in trouble (Such as opening the golden door, after Paradise specifically warned her not to).  For some inexplicable reason, the show Graced this mare with a British accent, and like Wind Whistler and her vast intellect, it became one of the traits that define the character.  So anyway, why don't you all get to disscussing thins fine pony. Hip hip and cheerio!

I love North Star; she does not get enough appreciation I think I think she would have been great with perhaps a streak of dark blue through her mane!

I like North Star as a character but not as a pony - I think it is an issue with her pose and her almost monochromatic colors.  I do like her baby, though.

I agree! I think she's awesome in concept but her colours don't quite do her justice. I wonder what setting or accessory would make her pop

I love North Star she is cute don't actually own Mummy yet but I do have first Tooth Baby hehe so pretty  love her colours

You've got the best of both worlds, fuzzy, nss AND a baby-score! Yeah, her color palette isn't the most original. The fact that her symbol actually makes sense with her name, is always a plus!

North Star was always with Wind Whistler in my childhood herd.  I even put them next to each other on the SS display shelf.

I got mine in a swap, and I was super pleased to see her; she was one of the ponies I wanted when I started getting serious about collecting G1. <3 To me she stands out as one of the stronger characters in the cartoon.

Blimey, you all really love North Star, eh? Well, I agree with ya, she's a jolly good pony!

Seriously though, I loved her personality in the cartoon, and think the toy looks cool.

I love North Star... I will admit, like several others, I would have been a bit more pleased with another color combination.  This, however, has not stopped me from snatching her up in whatever version I can.  I adore maps/directions/etc., so that's why I feel like I have such a strong affinity towards North Star.

I adore North Star - she's one of my favourites in the series I love her accent, even if it does slip occasionally There's just something about her that I love, hee.

This is me too! I always loved North Star! I was lucky enough to get her AND her FT baby in childhood. Sadly, my dog chewed her hoof, so I got a replacement for display. I can't bait my childhood one as she has such a story behind her!
