Canada *Updated postal rate chart*

I just came across these new postal rate charts today and thought it'd be a good idea to share with the community.

Canada Chart - As of January 13, 2014

*Edit - I removed the US chart since I cannot verify whether or not it is accurate, however the Canadian rates are correct and do go into effect January 13,2014.

I just looked up postage from my zip in Seattle, WA to someone in UT on USPS.com  and it was $2.92 to ship an 8oz package.

I want to point out this chart is from Stamps.com. The USPS has not made anything "official" on their webpage as of yet.

Plus if you print your postage online supposedly there is not going to be any change.

Right- but the chart above shows a 8oz package as costing only $2.55- expected to go up to $2.59-  but USPS is calculating an 8oz package from me to UT as $2.92-  so I'm thinking that the reason it is higher is the zip code.   Just don't want anyone to look at the chart above and think that they can send a package across the country and get the rates quoted above- I think the above rates do not add in the increases for states that are one or two or more over...  does that make sense?

Most likely it's just a basic chart. I know they announced stamps are going up 2 cents as well and that's not on there.

I did check Canada Post to verify before I posted and those rates are correct as far as base rates are concerned. I'm not as familiar with USPS since I don't use the site, so I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I am going to suggest since this may or may not be accurate for the US prices, unfortunately it could be a bit misleading and it may be best to adjust this post for just Canada.

I modified the original post with an explanation, sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone

ETA: I did look on USPS.com and they wont be releasing the rate changes (form 123) until later this month, I did however find several websites that have notated the price changes. I would suggest googling "USPS rate chart 2014", it has been featured on several news sites as well as stamps.com, pitneybowes, ecommerce etc.

Always better to be ahead of the game and know what's coming up

Not your fault that US shipping is so confusing! 

There are actually rate tables that you have to get for each postal "Zone" which give you accurate shipping costs to other "Zones" (I think there is one in our mail room)  - but honestly I find it MUCH easier to just plug in the zip codes into USPS.com as it will spit out the correct rate then and there (it is the same computer system that the post office uses so will always be current and up to date)

I use an online shipping program (endicia) to mail stuff, and when I need to know shipping costs, I just go and pop the zip/country into the program. It's pretty nice, but every year when the rates change it's a rude awakening. 

OT - shipping? Why is it censored? Did I miss something?
