A bit of a conundrum with my TRU Shadowbolt
« on: January 03, 2014, 08:23:46 AM »
When I went to TRU to pick up the Rainbow Power FS Fluttershy, I also picked up a TRU-exlusive Shadowbolt for my collection (only paying 4 bucks for her due to a coupon) at the time, I didn't realize that all shadowbolts came with icky glue-styled hair, but I now realized it seems I have picked up an unfinished one or something. Here are some photos of her:

As you can see, she has no glue in her hair whatsoever and no band across her eyes like the other Shadowbolt RDs have. My conundrum is: should I glue her hair into place or not so she becomes somewhat more finished. Your thoughts?

Glue her hair back?

Knee jerk reaction would be no, but if you find it adds appeal, she is your pony after all. I'd personally glob a bit of conditioner in, mold it into position, let it dry overnight and then rinse it out. it'll hold the shape and be soft too :)

EDIT

Just saw the pic, and I think she looks pretty awesome :) jmho

I wouldn't glue her hair.  Maybe if you don't like the fluffy appearance- apply some strong hold gel.

I agree. Nab some hair gel, you'll thank yourself later.

Her mane is so stiff on mine it may as well be molded plastic. I prefer the softer look of yours, but if you want the look without the glue, I've just used straight conditioner in the past and let it dry into the hair. That way if you change your mind it won't be a nightmare to remove and he hair won't have dried out either!

Don't do it! Trust me, it's much better this way, I had to work like a nut to clean the glue out of mine....

Oh gosh yes! I agree - dont do anything permanent. If you prefer her with her fringe glued into position then go with something like hair gel or even a boil setting, not something you will have to fight to remove and potentially be stuck [he he he] with forever!

I think she looks lovely :)

If you really, really feel you HAVE to glue her hair, use Aleene's Tacky Glue - it'll wash out with water.  :)

You might trade her for one that has the glue already. There are some people on here who would love to have one without the glue.
