I was fond of her, I remember her most from MLP the Movie, Mish mash Melee and the Golden Horseshoes. I never had her in my childhood collection, when I tried to re-enact scenes with her in I would pretend Braided Beauty was Wind Whistler.

She was slightly pretentious, but I didn't mind so much, it was interesting to have polar opposites of each other with ponies like WW and Fizzy, as well as Shady and Gusty.

I have her in my collection now (somewhere in a box) I'm hoping to get an upgrade sometime for one that has pink hair instead of faded white

Yeah, that's one problem with Wind Whistler, that fading pink hair.  It looks beautiful in its original color, but it's only a matter of time.

You know, I sometimes wonder if Faust had not been such a techphobe in her approach to the show (she wanted a Medieval tech level for Friendship is Magic but had to give at Hasbro's insistence), if Twilight would have been a more scientifically-minded pony like WW.

I love Wind Whistler... I love her personality in the show, and I love her as the toy.  I still have the SS version of her from my original childhood collection.  I'd like to get the Non SS UK version soon.

The only thing I don't/didn't like about Wind Whistler is that she always seemed to be kissing Megan's butt on the tv show... although I think that's more of a "I'm not a huge Megan fan" instead of a "this annoys me about Wind Whistler" point though ;)

I love Wind Whister; she's my favorite pony.  :lovey:

She was my first pony as a child and I always loved her color combo. I lost her as a kid but found a gorgeous so soft version when I began collecting as an adult and she's still my favorite.

I adore her character as well. I appreciate the fact that she's smart, logical one.  She uses big words and sometimes the other ponies don't understand her but she loves them and would do anything for her friends.  I can sympathize with that.  I really feel for her in the Crunch the Rock Dog, so I love her even more.  She really is one of my favorite characters.

Wind Whistler and Fizzy are my favorite two G1 ponies from the show, and they are definitely in my Top 10 favorite G1 toys.  I love her design, and her personality in the show was just awesome.  I've always called her the Pony Spock.  :P

Wind Whister was my absolute favourite adult pony when I was a little girl! I always thought she was so cool! And when I started collecting again, she was one of the first I got!

Same here!  I didn't have her as a kid, but when I started actively collecting she was one of the first ponies I got.

One thing that disappoints a little is they didn't play up Wind Whistler's singing ability in the show.  I mean, they got a singer to voice her.  They could have given her more than one solo (in which she was under the affects of the frazzits).

Definitely one of my favorites. Sometimes she really does seem like the odd one out, as a calm, rational, intelligent pony in a fluffy, magical land where many of the other ponies seem to spend much of their time planning and participating in elaborate parties and events. Interestingly, though, none of the characters on the show seem to make fun of her for being smart.

As a kid, I could relate to her more than any of the other ponies. I was always more interested in reading and learning things than I was in playing or socializing with others.

I've only seen a couple of comics where she makes an appearance, but strangely, neither one seems to depict her as an airhead. In fact, one comic which she stars in (which I unfortunately can't remember the name of) shows her behaving in a calm, rational manner in order to outwit a malevolent magical being she encounters in the woods (I can't remember its name either, sorry).
Looking for these two little Soma fakies:

Wind Whistler is my favorite pony from the show since childhood, and she's actually the only one whose personality I can clearly remember. :) Didn't have the privilege of owning her when I was little though, I was born too late. :P

SS Wind Whistler was one of the first ponies I ever received as a kid. I still have her, crayon marks, tail rust and all.

She is also the only pony whose voice I remember from the TV show and I really looked up to her as the smart pony that the characters seemed to go to for information and educated choices. Love that girl.
