Jury duty?

O.o If you're Dad's a lawyer you shouldn't be eligible to be a juror. You might want to give him a call and confirm that and see if he can get you a written excuse.

For some reason things have changed. My mother last year and my sister were called in for jury duty. The first thing my mother mentioned was "you know who my husband is?" They told her yes and that doesn't matter anymore. I'm not really sure why it doesn't, because I don't keep up with these things. I do know some of dads friends and even his partner's wife have been brought in as jurors in the last few years.

Wow. That stinks. I guess it's still up to the individual states to decide, then.

Several years ago I got selected. I filled out their questionnaire. I also included a note (on Disney stationary) that explained I don't drive, but if they really needed me my mommy could drive me. I never heard from them again! 

Then a few weeks ago my dad got selected. The thing is... my dad is in the nursing home!  Mom and I just starting laughing when that came in the mail.
