Bad Buyer report: eBay user 123susannal
« on: November 19, 2013, 04:15:18 AM »
I sold a G3 Wysteria to 123susannal this past week, and within a day she had opened a case against me for 'Item has not arrived'. My dispatch time was stymied this week due to a job interview, but that was incredibly fast for a grand total of £5.95 (inc postage) on a Pony!

I've had rude, sharp replies from her at every turn and she has now informed me that the Pony has arrived in a split box and she will be leaving negative feedback. At this stage eBay still have my money and she has the pony, having not responded to the case SHE opened.

So, not only is she going to get the pony for free but she's also going to rack my otherwise 100% clear feedback rating into the floor. My feedback is here: http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=duskyponies&ftab=AllFeedback&myworld=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2050430.m2531.l4585
I don't know how one negative rating will affect my overall percentage but I do wish we could leave negatives for buyers! This is the SECOND bad buyer I've had this month with the first suffering 'Buyer's Remorse' on a very expensive item, damaging it, and returning it as 'not as described'.

I don't know why I bother with eBay anymore.

Ebay sucks. I'm selling off the rest of my cuttlefish for £2 a box to get them out the way before I move house. I just don't know how someone can sell items for £2 with free postage in the UK and still make any money?! I can't compete with that I'd never eat

I got very careful and selective with selling stuff on ebay - I still do the bigger bits that are Collection only.
You might have buyers not turning up, but you wont have them saying they didnt receive their items or they got damaged in the mail.

I mainly sell ponies and other 80ies toys through forums and conventions. And I know a lot of my friends sell theirs through FB too.

I think mentioning feedback like that in a email is a big no no on eBay.  If she does leave a negative you may be able to dispute it based on that.

Second did you have tracking on the item?  If so the seller can escalate the case too, make sure you put in the tracking number.  As long as it shows delivered it will be decided in your favor.

Dusky that is terrible  :(  She sounds to me that she is just bullying you at this point to get a free pony.

I know it's a pain in the rump but I think you need to call eBay and let them know what is going on.

slj84 is absolutely correct about feedback. It's considered feedback extortion. She also has offered some great advice to help cover your bases.

Well it's been a day or so since and she's closed the case, so eBay gave me my £5.95 back (which was promptly eaten by listing fees but what the heck). As yet she's not left feedback so I am hoping that she said that in order to make ME be angry at HER and thus sick eBay on me in some petty vengeance over a £3.00 pony.  I'll keep a wary eye and I've messaged other buyers from that set of listings, they're all fine with their items!

Bleeergh. I'd use Forums if they were faster, frankly. I've got ~4-5 crates of stuff that I could do with not being here purely for my own peace of mine and to free up some funds to buy things for other people this xmas.

Oh this bloody woman... NOW she's PM'd me after the case was closed asking for a partial refund if she returns the pony. She still hasn't left feedback so there's the implied threat that she'll do so if I don't comply.

Really all that over a very small sale?  What a pain the toosh she is.  What was your return policy?  She closed the case I don't think she can reopen it.  All I would worry about is feedback.  But since she has threatened you with a negative eBay should remove it.  You can also report her to eBay about what she has done.  The buyer is not told about the complaint unless eBay feels it reason enough to reprimand.  Even then they won't tell them who submitted it.

I would offer her a return just to get rid of her, but she pays shipping with tracking back to you, plus no refund on the cost of shipping to her. Minus the fees that eBay takes from the sale as well.
