So, back when I was a baby fan, I posted this thread on the TP. This week, the same seller showed up with misprint blind bags I've never seen from anyone else (except one other account that I'm pretty sure is them too)--a yellow glitter Pinkie mold with Snips' cutie mark. I decided to take a chance on it, since it was only $3.

That said, would it be kosher to mention the feedback extortion from the last transaction on this one's feedback? Since I can no longer change the old feedback. It just galls me that I can't warn others to be careful of them outside the Arena.

Any mention of feedback extortion on your feedback will go badly for you and your feedback is likely to be removed, even if it is commenting about a previous transaction.  The seller may even be able to take steps to report you to ebay.

If you really felt that badly about it, then I wouldn't buy from the same buyer again.  In buying from molie2015 again, its like you have forgiven and forgotten about the feedback issue.

Thank you for the advice, but I'm not sure where that second paragraph came from. :/ Feedback extortion is not acceptable for any reason, and as we've seen with other sellers, making another purchase does not resolve bad business practices in the past.

I know its not acceptable, but in your thread on the TP, you stated that the seller was dishonest and you're never buying from them again, but you appear to have changed your mind on this.  The way ebay and the seller would see it is that if there was a problem with a previous transaction, it has been resolved with your part refund.  Since you are buying from them again, it might be a bit unfair to bring the issue of your previous transaction up again.

I understand, thank you. The reason I decided to take a chance was because $3 is the price of a normal blind bag, so even if they send the wrong one, while I will be disappointed, it will not be a loss. I continue, however, to find it a bit unfair how they conduct themselves when they are in the wrong.

I agree with Rhubarb; raising in feedback anything which does not pertain to that actual transaction is not worth the trouble you may get into and also will be easily requested to be removed by the seller.

Unfortunately on your original transaction when you were asked by the seller to return the items [at your expense] in order to get a full refund that is pretty standard. The fact they ended up refunding you half and allowing you to keep all the items ordered is not something all sellers will offer, many will hold out for the return which is what ebay says should happen.

If you felt you were being extorted to leave applicable feedback on the last occasion - did you report their message to ebay?

I did not, because it was one of my first ebay transactions (I think my only previous one had been buying a new cord for my laptop), and I didn't know reporting them to ebay was even an option. Best case for me would have been them offering to pay for return shipping, which some sellers will do for defective items.

*shrugs* I can see where you are coming from, but, sellers do that for defective items, as you said.  *Unwanted* items are not automatically defective.  Honestly, once you opened the blind bags, the seller was under no obligation to do anything, because you altered what you bought, just like ponies you've taken the heads off to clean.

I think I'm going to agree with others on this:  if you are worried, then don't buy from the seller, it's your choice and I doubt this is the ONLY one of that particular blind bag that will show up on ebay.
And feedback is supposed to be separate for each transaction.  If you buy 3 ponies from a seller and 1 has a problem, you wouldn't say the *other* two ponies were bad, right?

When a random lot comes with all one kind of item, would you not call that defective? It was very wanted, just not in the way that it arrived.

That said, I would like to be finished defending myself for a transaction I had over six months ago which is outside of the scope of the question I asked. I have gotten an answer, thank you.

No, that's the funny thing about true randomisation, sometimes you will get all the same item or number as it is as statistically likely as any other combination.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a woman in possession of disposable income, must be in want of a pony.
