Initials on feet- I kind of like them :)

  How do you guys feel about ponies with initials on their feet?

  I can understand that many collectors consider it a flaw, but I kind of like them    It's left over from my memory of my first pony, Truly.  My mom put my initials on her back two feet so I could safely take her to kindergarten.  I remember her explaining that this would let everyone know she was mine so I wouldn't lose her.

  Now when I see a pony with initials I think of the child or parent carefully writing them to keep their pony safe.  I have a TAF Buttons I recently got in a lot with the initials C. J.  Where is C. J. now? Does she remember her ponies?

  Anyway,  I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same way I do!

  And, if any of you happen to have a Truly with the initials K Mc, I would love to buy her! 

Actually, I wonder the same thing...I wonder what little child had this cute pony and if they miss her or remember her...was she a big part of her childhood? My imaginations runs wild with speculation!

   Yes, I would love to get my Truly back, but I have one now purchased by my hubby for me- that and my daughter liking FiM started me collecting again! So she's lucky for me in that way.

   So, I've seen Toy Story and Toy Story 3, but not TS 2    Guess I need to watch that one...

I agree that initials are a cute little detail to have on a pony. I never marked any of my own but I have several who came to me with names/initials written on them.

I think it's cute, too.  Means they were loved. 

I actually don't have any ponies with initials on their hooves per se, but I have 3 with names written on them:  a bait Cotton Candy with "Pebbles" written on her side, a princess with a "R" on her stomach and a baby Flower Bouquet with "Rio" written across her neck.  The baby is now named Rio, FYI.

I have a soft spot in my heart for ponies that have been loved hard so initials on the hooves is a-ok with me.... now that I think about it I think a few of my say cj.... weird.

I had a fox stuffed animal when I was little that I loved and I wrote my name on the tag. After years and years I didn't play with it and I didn't even notice it had vanished. As it turns out my mother had donated to our church's thrift store where we volunteered and about a week later after she had given alot of our toys away (without telling us of course) I was helping put donations out when I saw it and was like "hey I have one just like this.... HEY THIS IS MINE" it was funny cause I felt like I had saved him and was really upset with my mom but really glad I got him back. We were such a small community he wouldn't have gone anywhere anyways I think!

This is such a sweet story! I'm so glad you got him back .

I think I've only got one pony with initials on.. I don't mind them too much as long as they're not really visible .

I like it too, I love a pony with some history. I always wonder who played with them before i got them. I also like to think where did they come from? As long as its not writing on the side of the pony. I think it is cute.

I never really thought about it that way... When I was a kid, though, I put my initials on my ponies' feet, as well. I would never wash those off, now.

I do have a used Nintendo DS, though, that has an unusual name etched into the plastic. It says "Cronan" on both the plastic of the DS and the case that it came in. I frequently speculate on who Cronan is and why he got rid of his DS that is in otherwise pristine condition...

Im half & half lol. I don't mind it now and have a few with them... But when I was a kid my Grandma would do this to all & I mean All of my toys! It would not be very big or seen by many, but as a kid it drove me nuts! I knew it was there! I would try to scrub off my letters with cleaners because I hated my name.
I wouldn't let her get me a Princess Tiffany because of the name. Now I love the dang girl!
