Anyone tried Wal-Mart price match on Ponies?
« on: November 08, 2013, 04:24:06 AM »
So, Wal-Mart's price match. They seem to be calling it something a bit different for the holidays, but oh well.

I've never used it, but it sounds like you have to bring in the competitor's circular to prove the price. What if you don't have the circular (or the store doesn't make one)? It says Internet prices aren't good enough proof, so I'm guessing that even if the store's website has the same price as the brick-and-mortar store, showing the website wouldn't be acceptable.

Is there any other way to verify the price so Wal-Mart will price match it? It could sure be a useful tool to get Pony merchandise cheaper sometimes!

I did it last year with some wedding castles, rc cars, and large cadances. This year i did it with some princess palace playsets and mini figure sets. You have to have proof to do it like an add or photo, i dont know if online prices from other stores will work for walmarts price match. My managers know i collect ponies so they trust me and mark ponies with rollback prices to compete with the other stores if i pull out my phone a.d show them something from toys r us that is cheaper! Right now I feel like at least in my area (aka my pony hunting range)  tru and target's pony prices are either on-par or cheaper than the walmart ones.

I would check and see if there are any paper adds at toys r us, target, meijer, etc with ponies in it and show the walmart cashier at checkout when you are buying your ponies, show them another store has it cheaper then theycshould price override for you! If im not mistaken, you might be able to price match stuff youhave already bought at walmart if something goes on sale later you purchased and you get refunded the difference.

If I could get to the Toys R Us and Target to get an ad, I could just buy the stuff there. :) My problem is that it's harder to get out to where they are and Wal-Mart is the only Pony store really close to me. So since I'm not as close to the other stores and don't receive their ads in the mail, I'm not sure how to give Wal-Mart any proof of the cheaper prices.

There might be scans of pony ads people have posted online!  I recently saw one on EQD but it might be for black friday. Theres a Toys R Us one too somewhere on here. Its still the in-store prices, same ad just a picture of it online. I wonder if that could help since your toys r us and target are far away.

I was wondering if anyone might have scanned the ads in! I would prefer a Target one (if it would also be possible to use the Target coupon to get Wal-Mart to take the price down that much more), but in a pinch I'd go for the Toys R Us one.
