Yes, I can see the knots inside the head. When I first came on here questioning the blue bow tie, I was advised what to look for.

Oh thats a shame. However it sounds as though the rehairer has done a good job with the colour. If these are recent purchases and you feel you paid over the odds, I would suggest you start a thread in Trader Support, you will get help there from mods and members.

Yes, I think both must be good. From the outside there's nothing to suggest its a rehair.
I think, if she knew (I'm almost certain it's the sellers own work) and she had mentioned it, I would have been quite pleased. Very much interested, I do find it fascinating.

But....I thought when I got home I'd been duped a bit. 2 ponies have no tails, loads of duplicates. I guess I felt a bit like she had passed on her leftovers kinda thing.

I'm starting to sound really moaning now. It's not the sellers fault as such, it's mine. I was under the impression I was buying her old pony collection, not cast offs. Argh, it's tricky to explain, sorry : )

As it happens, the same day I received practically mint Moonstone and Windy. Comparing them to 'unoriginal' ponies I guess has made me question what sort of collector I want to be.

Anyway, I'm typing on my phone which is really tricky. Thanks for the replies, it's given me something to ponder over : )

a few years back I was buying Argentina ponies on ebay and I always had a suspicion they were rehairs, but it never said in the descriptions, but when i resold them i made sure to say they were ( just in case). Im sure i took a loss on them but its better to be honest about that type of thing than to risk reputation or a bad feedback.

We all will probably be able to admit to transactions - through our own error or the sellers error - which disappoint.

I can only offer a  and an assurance that unfortunately it happens to us all.

I dont think we have to commit ourselves to be certain types of collector - part of the fun is to kind of change and grow as the collecting years pass. :)

Sounds like Windy and Moonstone were good buys so congrats on adding them to your collection. And I must admit I think the Bow Tie in your avatar is a pretty cute alternate rehair!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
