Totally liked the story and it does not surprise me they did not go into detail as to how they got the eyes.  A young child would not always have wondered those details but been enthralled by the telling of it.

Actually it is more like popped em in, they have a whole part that goes into the head so they do not fall out.  Not easy to get out.
