Is a tracking number enough?
« on: October 05, 2013, 11:44:26 AM »
I'm selling a high priced item on ebay and wondering if a tracking number is enough or should I also get a signature confirmation? I've had mostly good experiences with ebay, but there have been the odd few lately that have made me groan :P Especially since a buyer opened a case against me when she already received her item!!

So would you do just get a tracking number or also get a signature confirmation? My item will sell for about $350 - $400 and it just makes me nervous someone trying to pull a fast one over me XD

Oh, and I plan on getting it insured as well just in case ;)

I think for over $250 ebay (or paypal? I forget) requires signature confirmation in addition to tracking, so I'd get it just to be safe! That's a lot of moolah!

I'd definitely go for signature confirmation if it'll be going for that much. Compared to the final value of the item, the little bit extra to protect yourself is rather negligible :)

I would definitely add the signature conformation.  If I understand it correctly if the worth is over $250 you are not protected with just the DC and someone can claim not to have received the item and win regardless of DC saying it was delivered.  I feel that adding the signature so that isn't even a potential issue would be worth it.

I have to agree with the rest that Signature Confirmation is not only a must but required on a package of that value. If the total transaction (item price and shipping) added together equal $250 or more you must use Signature Confirmation in order to maintain your Seller Protection.

I was also going to mention the insurance part but I see you have that covered already  :ohyeah:

Looks like you got it sorted! :)  definitely worth getting tracking , signature and insurance on something worth that much - especially after the recent bad experience with the dodgy buyer!
