DO NOT DEAL with _ COTTONMEDLEY (Mexico)

Not fond of using real full name, but sometimes it's needed.

Older members may remember her better as COTTONMEDLEY.  With all the problems associated to her.  My mind never related her name with her username. 

She's active in Mexico (used to?  At least was until February in My Little Pony Mexico.

Mods, if interested in her FB and actual e-mail, PM me.  She's really active in her FB account.

Situation (short version of it):

She posted some sales of the FB group, and I contacted her on January for some ponies...  specially MIP Baby Princess Sparkle that's been a grail for me and wanted her as a self-gift for this year, as I'll be out (I hope) of University.  Decided on other ponies and items, and paid on February.  Using excuses she posted my ponies until later, with the excuse she has a lot of work and never find an open Post Office (yeah, right).  Finally arrives a box, terrible packaging, the things were just tossed inside, including a MOC, and checking them, missing MIP Baby Princess Sparkle, and a petite I didn't realise was missing until checking them later.  But, she send some items as a 'forgive me' thing (go figure...  *sarcasm*).

Contacted her, telling about my missing MIP Princess Sparkle, and at first she was really sorry (now I REALLY DOUBT IT) for the missing pony...  saying she's gonna search for it and going to put it in my way or return my money...  She "found it on her sister's car", it fell out from the box when she put it on the PO...  and was going to send her to me...

More than 6 months later, me searching and trying to contact her, and still NO PONY and NO MONEY.

At this moment, I really doubt the pony ever existed in first place.

Lessons learned? 

a)  First NEVER EVER trust someone you've dealt with before.   And try to be as safe as one can when buying something expensive.
b)  Second CHECK (or try to) REAL NAME with USERNAMES (I know our bad trader report and trader checklist doesn't have it...  can I suggest using the initials and/or country for it to be possible when in doubt?)
c)  Third hard way learning, DO NOT BUY SOMETHING OUTSIDE OF SOMETHING THAT GIVES SOMETHING AKIN TO SECURITY FOR BUYERS.  eBay, MercadoLibre, Paypal, the likes of it.


Conclusion, NEVER EVER DEAL WITH HER.  Once she gets YOUR money on HER HANDS, she dissapears and stops answering.  Keeping both money AND pony(ies) (if they exist in first place).


I have all the e-mails and PMs, including pics of the package and the items that were just thrown in and not remotely packed as a MOC items require.


If needed, can post them ASAP (that actually means as soon as my stupid internet lets me upload something).

Could you PM me her FB name?  I've been eyeing some ponies on Fb and want to make sure I don't deal with her.

It's a terrible, terrible situation and I have no words to tell you how sorry I am. But the reason her name was removed, whether she cares or not is we do not allow personal info like that to be posted, I am sorry. 

I believe you did the right thing by posting here, as others should absolutely be warned of her repeated behavior. And since it is happening on Facebook others would have no idea here what is taking place off site or know her past here.

If you would like to send me her personal info. I will update our Trader Watch list with it and a link to the repeated threads about her.

I know Skeen was waiting on something and so were a few others so hopefully they see this.

Thank you for posting this warning   . I cant add anything to what Ponylady has already said other than that I'm really sorry that she has scammed you too   She has done it in the past with other members here but then she disappeared.  I did not know that she had resurfaced on FB and is continuing to scam people *sigh*

I am so sad to hear that this is going on...    Hopefully people will take heed when using sites like Facebook and others to Buy/Sell/Trade.  There's no feedback system there so it's such a risk...  Thank you for sharing your warning though!  *pony hugs*

She stole over $200 from me for a lilac-haired Mexican Posey.  THEN, about a year after after the scam, got in touch with another member here saying she wanted to make good and promised to send it out (with yet more owed stuff to several other members) and never sent it then either.  She's a scammer of the lowest sort and I would be MORE than happy to provide her full name and FB info to anyone who wants it.  In 17 years of collecting she is the only person who has ever scammed me.

Don't worry, that's why I tried to avoid for this long using her name.  But unfortunately there's the need to use it to alert others.

I know, I let Skeen know about my situation way back on May/January (can't remember and too lazy to check my e-mails =X).

I know -.-  No feedback, and at least there's a guy she's also scammed.  And even so I've posted a warning about her in the arena FB page way back, and the FB group where I found her, not sure how many will check or remember those.

And I trusted because I've dealt with other sellers there and have no problem (well... only in communication with one, but she's a lovely seller).

And in her own words... CM STILL has relation with at least a member.  Not sure who, but I have my suspicions, but...  not going to dare tell names with someone whose not CM.

I've only have 2 problems in all my years collecting and buying online.  Once some years ago with a really bad communicating seller, but got my items (thanks to ML...), and CM.
