Ebay question
« on: August 24, 2013, 11:06:29 PM »
Do sellers have a timeframe in which they have to respond once someone buys/wins an auction?

I've won 3 auctions and aid immediately and none of them are saying anything. No info on when my item may be shipped. No info is listed on any of them saying they are away or whatever. One person I sent a question to and they haven't responded. That auction was won on the 19th. The fine print says they're handling time is 10 days so I guess they still have time. But I'm just wondering what's going on. It's from 3 different sellers by the way.

There is no requirement for contact per ebay's rules.  However, that is odd for so much time to have gone by.  Did you message the seller on a week day?

I know it is frustrating, but not every seller is the same in terms of how they sell and how communicative they are.  If a seller states a 10 day handling time, that would sum it up for me though, lol!  They will probably get back to you in a day or two - even if it has been a day.

I think most people shoot for 3-5 days processing time, but if their listing says 10 I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.  I try to message sellers with a long wait time before I buy to see if they could possibly bump me up on shipping if I need the package more quickly.  Being the weekend anyway post is closed so I wouldn't expect anything until we hit the work week.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.

I'm not really in a hurry for the items. Just seemed odd that, especially the item I bought on the 19th, I'd heard nothing from them. Guess ill just wait a bit more.

Yes, I finally got my item. :) Thanks for asking.

Now I'm dealing with someone who's auction says 3 business days and its now been since Tuesday evening and I still don't think they've shipped. I've asked twice and they assured me they'd be shipping that day but so far it hasn't happened.
I'm usually not in such a hurry but I need the pony for a custom commission.
Not having good communication lately and it's driving me crazy.

Geez, it seems that you've had a bunch of bad luck lately.
As frustrating as it is, if you purchased something last Tuesday evening (after the end of Tuesday's "business day"), today would technically only be the 4th business day since Monday was a holiday. Those pesky Monday holidays always throw a wrench into the works. Hopefully the post office is on top of things & your package reaches you quickly!! :)

Yeah, I hadn't thought about the holiday. But 2-3 other auctions I've purchased -after- that one have been marked as shipped. It's always the ones I have plans for that give me issues. :/
