Runaway Rainbow Question Relating To Rarity And Cheerilee

OK so when Cheerliee was teaching Rarity about being a rainbow princess she wasn't paying attention.  Then, she gets ahold of the wand and does some random magic and ends up in breezie blossom.  On a recovery mission, Cheerilee ends up sort of acting like she's Rarity's Mom, instead of her teacher especially with the Far Apart song.  I don't know if everyone in Unicornia is like one big family and maybe Cheerilee felt more protective of Rarity because she was a baby unicorn but she seemed to have grown up during the movie because suddenly at the end she was responsible and knew exactly how to call the crystal carriage.   

I was wondering why you guys think Cheerilee seemed a little too close to Rarity or maybe I already answered my own question.

I see Cheerliee as her teacher and very close friend... when I saw the movie I didn´t think about her as Rarity´s mom....

But who knows.... If I remember well In the G3 movies they don´t say who are the parents of each pony, so maybe the writer intention was make a motherly personality on Cheerliee.... I really don´t know

I think Cheerilee was sort of Rarity's tutor- like those really close tutors that act like parents. Especially since no one in Ponyville has parents! That always drives me crazy- how hard can it be to make parents? GAH!

Family, aging, etc. are concepts completely alien to pre-Core7 G3. I know Scooter Sprite strikes me as a young'un, but that's not based on anything canonical.

I think Cheerilee felt responsible for her. After all, she was supposed to be looking after her.

I always thought Cherilee was the big sister of Rarity. But they never mention that in the movie, do they?

I think Cherilee felt a little responsible for Rarity disappearing because she left her alone with the wand/didn't make sure Rairty couldn't play with the wand before she left the room.
 But did anyone notice when Spike had the map trying to figure out where Unicornia was Rarity said "Oh I live there in that castle." ? She didn't say she lived in Unicornia. If she was just chosen as that year's Rainbow Princess why does she live in the castle?

Maybe they they already had a room made up for her and it's a room that each chosen princess uses so once she was chosen she just moved in.

I saw it as Rarity lived there for just that year, being that year's princess. Notice when we see her again in the Unicornia short and shine on lily lightly, she's just 'Rarity' and not princess rarity. I think Cheerilee's been training her for the past year for her position though, but she'll be replaced as 'princess' by next year.
