I wish they would produce more brushables as well but I understand why BBs are so popular. They're cheap to make, appeal to kids and likewise appeal to their parents for the price, and are also coveted by adult fans concerned with "show accuracy" (although they're like two years late with poor Fluttershy lol). I wasn't too impressed with the TRU Favourites set this year but love the other new character brushable releases and hope they do well.

I just have to speak at least for myself concerning appealing to adult collectors with show accuracy.  I don't mind show accuracy but blind bags don't appeal to me as an adult collector.  Blind bags have very few poses too.  I would much rather have a show accurate brushable.

Personally, I don't either and I prefer brushables, too. I had a lot more fun styling my mane six brushables to match the show than I ever have buying a molded figure, opening it up, and just... displaying it. But I remember it being a big deal when the brony crowd first started to emerge. A lot of them refused to buy the brushables because they didn't match the show.

I think this is also the first gen where show accuracy in the toys really matters to fans so it's probably a fairly new concern in the MLP community (and again, not really with long-standing collectors).

And now he's 9 and he just wants to play computer games.
There has been a trend in recent years with the profits of many boys toy decreasing and the profits of many girls toys increasing. This is reckoned to be due to many boys preferring video games and girls having more variety to pick from.

Trends, trends...

I am somewhat torn. One the one hand, I would love to see more characters made into brushables, because brushable size G4s are what I like most about this generation. On the other hand, I don't have much space and wouldn't want my collection to expand too much, so I am almost glad, so few new brushables are released every year.

I loved the BBs at first! They were cute and more show-accurate, took up less space, and most importantly- they were cheap! I remember they started off as a little over a dollar in most of the stores around here. Granted, they were tough to find at first, but still.

Now? There are plenty of characters I want, but they've gotten pretty pricey! Well over three dollars a piece, at least where I am. And I just can't justify spending that much on a quarter-sized painted piece of plastic. I like the sets, but for the price I'm only really getting two characters that I want. I wish they'd stop packaging the Mane 6 with everything.

Oh, yes, the price is a factor, too. Blind bags are so pricey (half the price of a brushable where I live, yet at the same time of poorer quality than brushables), I cannot justify to myself spending so much money on them. Thus, I only get the ones that I like best and really want to have.

I really like the blind bags. I love to have something 'little' to collect! For me, it started with just a few, and I thought they were really cute, and next thing I know I have nearly a hundred of them! I especially love the variety of characters, even if there are just a few molds.

Same here. Blindbags are cute but i don't consider them to be on the same level as brushables. I actually stopped actively looking for them. They take up quite some space for being so little, their price is rather steep (and slightly crazy on ebay) for such a small toy and i got tired of akwardly digging through boxes in stores.
It's pretty sad that after several years the brushables are still stuck in their  "standing" pose. I fully agree that this part of the toyline is being neglected. The least they could do is release more characters.
exactly how i feel about the BB, could not bring myself to spend more on them lately, the new wave is everywhere here and I'm just not into digging for the ones I want and look for codes and all that .found them too repetitive .
the BB sets are a bit better ,at least you leave them in their box and the look nicer than the loose ones from the bags ,but at 15 dllr tag on the new sets is kinda high up there, that is the price of real ponies, you can get a FS brushable size pony instead .
Brushables do get so repetitive ,very few new ponies in the last year (wysteria,Sunset Shimer,Mrs Cake  ,twirly treats (baby molases) ,Diamond Tiara and Bubbles,Lyrica )

I like both the blind bag figures and brushables, but like many others have said, the blind bag figures are completely plastic with no articulation so there's not much fun for us collectors. I love getting a brushable pony, washing her hair and styling it just how I want it but what can you do with a blind bag pony? Not a lot really, except taking photos and putting her/him on display. I am also sick of Hasbro repeating the mane 6 over and over too ! I now have the mane 6,the princesses,Sunset Shimmer and other ponies like Lyra,Feathermay etc. Other than Mrs Cake/Twirly Treats and Minty (if she is released) there are no other brushable ponies to get :(

(Going off on a slight tangent, but the quality of the brushables, especially the mane 6 in the princess packs is getting ridiculous. I have a Pinkie Pie who had two dirty thumb prints on her head, and her cutie mark is halfway down her leg,not to mention other dirty marks.)

I don't get the thing with BB's. The quality looks really iffy :/, poorly painted and dirty, right out the box...

Brushables are always perfect quality for me (I do pick and choose though). In my area the problem is not enough full stop... I see a lot of Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Rarity, but nobody else! Sunset Shimmer has cropped up recently, and I snagged her too.
