Anyone else ever experience this?
« on: July 29, 2013, 06:41:49 AM »
Last night I was having a nightmare, and when I woke up I was completely freezing cold. I did not wake up in a sweat, I was just freezing cold. This is not the first time this has happened to me. It is usually accompanied by a nightmare, but not always. It is kept warm in my house and I was wearing long sleeve shirt. It does not seem to matter what the temp in my house is or what I am wearing, I am still shaking from feeling like I am frozen and it takes me a while to warm back up...

Any insight into this?

Yes, all the time, but for different reasons. Hows your circulation? Have you been sick recently?  Things can get set off pretty easily when your brains been active too (like snapping awake because you've been 'falling' and could feel it)
I don't know the exact science of it offhand but I do know that at least the dream part of it is normal :)

My circulation is fine as far as I know and I have not been sick, I have a pretty good immune system  ^.^ I know that your body temp is supposed to decrease, but not to the point of freezing :)

I haven't experienced that.  I did one time wake up from a nightmare in a cold sweat but only once.  I often times wake up and one of my arms will have no blood flowing through from laying on it so it's basically a dead arm.  I have to wait for the circulation to go through again before I get back to sleep.

Could you have had a fever? That's the only time I wake up freezing.

Quite possibly to do with your cycle - I'm a massive nightmarish sweaty betty at nights before I'm due, going hot and cold every few hours. It could j just be that on this occasion you woke up and noticed, instead of warming back up.

Eat something high in iron tonight regardless, that should perk you up if it's a deficiency. And any excuse for a steak!
