cleaning house and pet overseer?
« on: August 09, 2013, 01:26:14 PM »
Well lately iv been motivated to totally clean out my house. Something I want to have done before fall, or at least before it gets super cold.

There are many things I have on my To-DO list, but the bottom line is that everything needs to be cleaned, everyone needs to go through everything they own and donate anything they no longer need.

So far my son has packed up a HUUUGE box full of toys, stuffed animals and clothes that he no longer is interested in. It took me a week but i finally got my mom to sort through our shoes closet and get rid of most of her shoes that she never wears, this involved me basically holding up a pair and her saying no, or mostly yes, and me giving her a look, and probably arguing with her about the actual likeliness that she would ever wear these. xD pulling teeth would have been easier!

today the job i picked is in the laundry room, and I noticed something...
My oldest cat, seems to think hes the official "Overseer" for my project. Every time I start a new job, hes there someplace keeping an eye on me!

Here he is, taking a quick break to watch my son out in the garden. But right after i took the picture he was back at attention and giving me a look that probably said "shouldn't you be working?" Or else "is it time for treats?"

Anyway that was all i had to share xD i just thought it was funny how he has to follow me around every time im up to something. feel free to share your "helpful" pets or summer cleaning stories haha.

My cat Delilah (she on the right in my profile picture) like to "help" me wrap presents. By that I mean she likes to sit and watch as I roll out the paper and grab at it when I start folding. Ailee (on the left) was helping me get rid of papers yesterday by sitting on the discard pile.  :)

My dog actually helps me do laundry.  He can drag the laundry bag behind me while I open doors.  Then he'll just go back to the couch and go to sleep like the real lazy butt he is.

Our Russian Blue would do that... walk slowly through the house looking at everything and gives us a meaningful look. If you've ever had a Russian Blue, you've seen the stare they give. The new kitty, Belle lies to follow us around and walk in all of the spots that we've just mopped.  Great.

I actually DID I miss him, his name was camper, but 3 kitties was just too many for our little house so he went to a new place. he definitely did have some pensive looking eyes :p

My dogs look quite sad when I clean up, especially if I wash their beds! It's like they worked so hard to get them all funky, and now I just have to ruin everything!

haha aww I can totally see that xD when I had a dog.. his bed was in my closet. Let me just say that no i did not lock my dog in the closet xD, but mine had no door, and especially in the winter, that one part of the floor was always cooler then the rest, he was a pommeranian so i think he was always too warm or something with all that fur. anyway he had 3 or 4 small fleece blankets that he would nest around in, he would drag them all over the place too lol. so whenever i would clean his bed he would stand to the side looking all sad, like i was messing up something he worked real hard to get just right :p

HAHA! i had this exact same situation with my mom in May, just with clothes!
And yes, pet overseers :P It used to be all my cats, now it's mostly my youngest cat and dog :) I pretty much can't lift my finger without their intervention :P Don't ask me how I wash my floors!

haha xD yeah i havent even tried to make her sort through her clothes -___-
my mom was an only child, and my grandparents were wealthy back then so she was very VERY spoiled, I blame that for her obsesion to hold on to many things. O_o
iv always kinda been a minimalist, I collect a few things, but if it gets to be too much then i want to sell things or give them away xD
