Finding ponies at festivals/toy shows?
« on: September 30, 2013, 04:05:06 PM »
There's a local festival this weekend that says they have a Collector's Sale in one building with antique-vintage and modern toys! Wouldn't it be great to find a rare G1 or something at the festival? Anyone else find anything good at one of these show?
Well I can dream anyways....

I have not been lucky to have one of them in my town. I live in a little town with nothing new going on. You are so lucky! :)

I usually find ponies at mine, but sometimes they are very overpriced.  I got very few pony things at the festival this month even though there were tons for sale...some were pretty much bait and still priced at $10+.

I went to a toy show awhile back.  I think 3 of the booths had ponies but only one of them were decently priced.  I didn't bring home anything rare but I same back with 5 g1s - mostly Sundae Best ponies and a couple of babies.

Toy shows are a lot of fun.  :)

I went to a toy show but the seller with ponies only really had G3 and was actually looking for G1 ponies.

I find that they are stupidly overpriced and always commons.  Sorry, Lemon Drop is not an $8 pony especially not with age spots.  Selling a playset without the pony, half the accessories and a trashed box - don't mark it as $80+!!!

Thank you!
On my last trip to the flea market I found a G3 Pinky Pie for 40 dollars! She had a haircut and it was matted! I asked the seller why she was marked so high, His reply," It is a vintage toy." Showing him the date was not "vintage" He said, "I can take 5 dollars off." I laughed so hard I almost wet my self! My husband replyed, "Dude, That pony is worth 1 dollar in a bait box." Than pulled the price up on his phone. I was shocked my Hubby listened to me about ponys at all.
Glitter for everyone! :fireworks:

Was that the one at the fairgrounds? I go a couple of times a year and never have any luck!

we have a monthly "flea market" that comes in the fall/winter. I have only ever found G3's that were priced well, never G1's its usually more of an antique market and or vendor show it seems, so annoying. Whatever happened to the true flea market where people bring their unwanted stuff to sell?

I'd love to find something. I need some pony luck! I haven't bought any ponies in about 6 months so I'm going through withdrawal!
