I see alotta ribbons on G1 ponies, but can one put a ribbon on G3 and G4 ponies too? :o (I hope you don't mind me asking a question on your post  )

Why wouldn't you be able to put a ribbon on a non-G1 pony? o_O

Fandom custom, maybe? It's like how people asked if it was okay to call them 'cutie marks' or fanfic writing 'rules'. I mean, the answer was always 'do as thou wilt' but people fret.

6mm ribbon can be a pain to track down lol - before upgrade I used new ribbon but for ages I could only find 5mm and 7mm. It was tormenting me.

Flutter & Princess ribbons are narrower of course and B&Gs wider. This site gives you a nice overview of the different sizes together - http://www.greatponies.com/ribbons.html

The Prom Queen Sisters did not actually come with ribbons. They are lateish in the line by which time Hasbro had become a little lazy with adding ribbons to ponies. So you can essentially add any ribbon you like without worrying about it confirming to type. I think I would go with something sparkly as they are headed to prom after all!

I see! Well Cha Cha needs a ribbon because she has some minor tail rust and I am not brave enough to open her up to clean the rust. Besides, I know she would look just lovely with one

OKAY so I am a little frustrated because I cannot find ribbon that specifically is  6 mm.

All of the ribbon wheels that I come across are in inches. So I tried to do the conversion and it came up with decimals and other measurements that just didn't make sense (I am not a math person by no means).

Help?

So... I did some math for you.

Get ready. You are about to see just how nerdy I am.

1mm = 0.0393701in

so

6mm = 0.23622in

but there is no 0.23622in ribbon, you say? No problem, lets convert to an approximate fraction.

First lets round... 0.24in! Woo! That's super duper close to 0.25in which converts to

25/100in

or...

1/4in!!

3/16 would probably work too, as 6mm in between 3/16 and 1/4 but it is closer to 1/4.

Cha Cha didn't come with a ribbon so you can put any type of ribbon on her you want

Lol - welcome to my frustration! I spent ages trying to track down someone who sells 6mm ribbon. Hopefully Slug has helped but if you are still stuck, let me know and I will find the old supplier I used for you.

Looks like 6mm is roughly a quarter inch.
